Driver's hotline...NO 911 calls. Just vents.

What ticks you off about other drivers?

One thing for me is passing a driver that is going slow. Suddenly they find their accelerator which forces you to speed 20 miles over the speed limit just to pass them.

You would not pass them if they were not going 20 miles under the speed limit. They put you and themselves in a dangerous situation. I don't understand the mindset. They didn't want to go the speed limit before, why does it bother them so much to be passed? It fries all my blonde braincells. If I wasn't such a calm driver, it could force me into the dark side of road rage.

Slow drivers in the fast lane. If you want to go the speed limit or less then move right.

Oh and people on cell phones.

Amen on the issue of slow drivers in the fast lane!!!

Also: failing to lane check, no signals, tailgating, lack of seatbelts/child restraint seats... oh... so many things!

Did I mention I'm in law enforcement??? :car:

:thumbsup2

Did I mention that I never really speed? :teeth:

I also can't stand people changing lanes without signalling.

The "eventual left" by which I mean the folks that drive FOREVER with a signal light on!

When someone is in the left lane and then decide this is their exit and swerve across the other lanes.

When someone cuts in front of you only to slow down.

When I'm trying to get over but I can't cause someone's in my blind spot but they don't want to speed up. When you try to speed up, they speed up :furious:

When the speed limit on the street is 55mph but the person in front of you is only doing 35mph and it's only one lane.

I can't stand it when people can't merge onto the highway.

The worst are the people who get to the end of the ramp and slam on the brakes, forcing me to slam on mine because they're halfway onto the highway and halfway on the ramp. Make up your mind! You can either go faster and get in front of me or you can slow down get behind me. You can't just STOP!

The high-beam flashers. I'm doing 75 in a 65 zone on a dark road with curves and no guardrails. This is fast enough and, if you don't like, you just picked the wrong time to be on that road, now, didn't you? I just flash my hazards back at them. My car flashes, too.

I also forgot the people who can't judge the lane. I leave from my middle school with high schoolers leaving at the same time (gulp) and they can't tell where they are in the lane. I have been hit in the rear twice this year, because they thought they had enough room to go around me. I now leave later. :confused3

I am pretty ticked when I am tailgated. Sometimes I wonder why I drive. :confused3

Isn't it funny how we couldn't wait to get our licenses as teenagers? Oh, the adult world!

:drive:

When I am at the front of the line at a red light in the right lane and someone pulls up next to me on the right and makes a right hand turn. I always want my passenger to open my door when I see them doing it. That is not a lane there. And why is there never a cop around when it is done!!!

I have to chuckle now at DH. Our van has the feature where it starts chiming after you have driven a certain distance with the turn signal on. I told him it is his Old Fart Feature.

Before I state my pet peave, I need to mention that the road I take to and from work is a two lane country road with a 55mph speed limit. I am as anxious as anybody else to get home, and I drive as close to 55 as I can on that road. That said, I don't understand people who, when I am driving the speed limit, need to pass me, only to meet up with me at the stop light at the end of the road, arriving about 20 miliseconds before I do. Even worse are those who tailgate when traffic is being slowed by farm vehicles on the road. Somehow, these yahoos think that I am the one choosing to drive 20mph (or 30 or 45). No, it is not my idea. On the other hand, I am not going to try to drive up the rear of the car in front of me. So they pass me, and quickly learn that actually, I am not the one setting the pace. Yesterday, though, Karma was in action. Somebody passed a police car that was in one of these caravans, and, about 5 cars ahead of me, I saw the red flashing lights go on, and Mr. Tailgate stopped by the side of the road.

People driving while talking on their cell phone.

Worse than that is the people who decide to turn right from the left hand lane in front of you. Yikes. Accident waiting to happen

Today I was driving on the highway, and came up behind someone going 45 in a 60. I went around her and looked to my right (to see if I could figure out what her problem was)....yep...she had a cell phone in her right hand, and a ciggie in her left!!

Also...parking....with everyone having these really big SUV's, people don't seem to care if they don't park in their lines. I think people think parking lines are just "suggested". Either that, or they have no problem taking up two parking spaces. grrrrrr!!!!!

And, finally...people who feel a need to keep you from changing lanes once you've put your signal on...is it really that neccessary to be so mean?
