Driven crazy - and not the usual stuff

I'm confused, the wait was due to Disney Springs, not park hoping? Either way, 30 minutes is a long wait. I want to say the Park buses run more often than the DS buses during the day reguardless of resort. Most of the demand during the day is for Parks not DS so they run less buses

Started off as a park hop and then ended up on a goose chase looking for a particular shirt. We did make it though.

It was successful then :) DD got shirt and you made it back in time with a horror story about a long wait to tell ;) Disney is all about making memories and thst you did ;)

First trip was 7 days and I was dreading it. Was so blown away that we bought 10 day tickets on the second trip. There's less excitement in general this time but have been disappointed with most of the supposed benefits of staying on property. I know my expectations haven't been unreasonable because I've always underestimated it in the past. I even enjoyed our BOG breakfast and lunch.

Lol the true question for those calling for fair boarding. Line everyone up and don't load anyone out of order. If the two wc places are taken and the next person is in a chair don't load anyone else. Because it isn't fair if your family can load if my mom was there first. Not logical. But fair.

People only want fair when it benefits them.
How about this? Outfit a fleet of ECV transporters and transport ONLY ECVs on them -- You and your party can link back up at your destination.

Just so you know the bus service is not supposed to be any better or worse depending on if you are staying at a value, moderate, or deluxe. The bus service is just bus service.

Also witnessed a family trying to get on bus without taking child out of a regular stroller because he was sleeping lol bus driver had mom remove child & dad fold up strolle

We saw the same thing on our last trip. It was late at night (11pm) and the parents pulled up with one of those incredibly ridiculous huge double wide strollers with two exhausted, dead-to-the-world toddlers. Mom and dad were down right outraged(!) that they had to close up the monstrosity and take the sleepiing kids out! Bus driver just had a total dead-pan gaze as he recited the rules... they tried to block to door so people couldn't board, but the line pushed around them and got on the bus since it was taking a lifetime for them to close the stroller, juggle the sleeping kids.... I actually felt sorta bad for them for a second... but then I thought "well your choice to keep toddlers out until the wee hours!"

Watched a guy fight his way through the the crowd right in front of the castle with a tray full of food 5 minutes before the Frozen stage show.

I did read the entire thread, thanks. And how is the bus driver supposed to know whether or not they got there first? And are you saying that people who arrived after the scooter should also have had to wait for the next bus even if there was room for them on the first bus?
No but what would be more fair is to let the scooter/driver on while their entourage wait in line like everyone else. A scooter with a party of 6 takes up 9 seats (or more) causing some who were there before to stand. I can see the need to load the scooter first, and the driver sit, but the rest of the party can wait their turn and stand if that's all that is left.

Just left after the Electrical Parade. The bus sitting at our stop was a tour style bus with no handicap accessibility. The scooter rider had to wait while everyone else got on.

Put my family in the minimalist crowd. Even when we have small kids in our group, we've found ways to minimize what we carry, and for us, we found that very helpful over carrying a large pack. Ther are alternatives.

For example, we never found it necessary to carry a full package of wipes. A ziplock bag full was plenty.

Though we did sometimes carry extra clothes, I can only recall one time - over many trips with extended family and many small kids- that we actually needed to use them. We also quickly learned that the extra outfit need not be bulky. It was especially helpful to use a ziplock bag like one of the compression bags. We could easily fit an outfit of a toddler in a sandwich bag (freezer style, if possible) and compress out all the air.

I've ever really saw the benefit of carrying many snacks. Once in while, if we are in a rush- we will grab a banana or an orange, but the deal we make is that we aren't going to carry it for very long. WE eat all snack within an hour of arriving in the park.
Yes- this is me. I always had a small package of wipes, a pair of shorts when the kids were small, and couple of diapers. Don't need snacks for everyone- we use the dining plan. disney has a first aid center if someone needs something (never have). I like the others have said, I don't care what people pack as long as they don't spin around and take out my children with those backpacks that look like they are smuggling in another child in. I just can't imagine why you would want to carry that around all day. In 15+ trips, I have never needed any more than what I brought, and never had to go back to the resort either.

Works for me:). Train the drivers well and have them fully functioning:) allow a companion. Many need the extra help. Including my mom.

I know my suggestion was absurd. I think I indicated it was:). But sometimes they just need to make the most reasonable choices based on the available options.

On the day that the trusses kept coming and going without us others that came after us made it to the parks an hour before us. Fair. No.

Also not fair that we are last off btw regardless of when we arrived or were loaded. We are used to it. Others think it should only be fair if they are the ones affected.

Not to be too jaded, but having had my very distinct backpack and contents stolen last visit, I rather suspect some people are major discount shopping from strollers and other unattended items. Not all, but we looked around, notified security, waited at CS from 2:30 until park close hoping for the backpack to turn up. Followed up with 40 days of phone calls to lost and found without luck. They would need large backpacks for this. Sorry to say, I have never worried about this in the past but I am hearing more and more of it in the last year or so.

I hate that. We had a new pal Mickey stolen in the minute it took us to realized no one had grabbed him:/

I can agree that this is an answer but my experience has been that the ECVs and wheelchairs are loaded first, but there's no way they can be unloaded first due to the fact that the buses are usually packed with standing guests. I can sympathize with guests who need extra help, and wish there was an answer to this. I think one of the issues is that there are often people who exploit or abuse any favorable situation which unfortunately impacts everyone.

We went to the bathroom and my backpack was against the wall. My husband was watching the sleeping baby in the stroller when 2 young boys started throwing a full water bottle like a football (often missing) so he moved around the corner. When we came out of the bathroom it was gone. :(

Exactly. Hey do the best they can with what they have to work with. There isn't really any fair. Lol like life in general.

So sad. :/

This is another peeve of mine! Why on earth do parents allow kids to throw balls, toys whatever in a crowded place?? I also can't stand it when you're at a crowded pool and daddy and the boys decide to throw a football/ball around in the crowded pool! I'll bet this family NEVER plays football or catch when they're on dry land.. but add water! Just hit me in the head.... I double-dog-dare you! How do you relax and enjoy a swim when you're dodging incoming missiles?:confused3

I'm not a loud/type-A person by any means, but I find it perfectly acceptable for someone to announce to the crowd what they need to do. For example, with the bathrooms: "If anyone is not currently using the facilities, please step outside and wait for your party to finish". People are just wildly oblivious sometimes. My favorite will always be those people who just STOP right in the middle of a walkway or doorway or anywhere else there are large amounts of people moving. I've always tried to be as aware as possible in those situations - especially when pushing around a stroller. I'll quickly pull off to an area on the side and look at a map or my phone or whatever I need to do. It's just common courtesy. It's funny how I'll see people complain about getting run over by strollers. Well, oftentimes it's because we are moving with traffic and someone will just STOP right in front of me. Whether it's in the bathroom, or a walkway, or a street or whatever - please, if you don't know what your next move is, step to the side.
