Drivelosity

I have not gone thru all the drivelocity posts yet, but have any of the others (DMM, Grimley, NLC, etc.) visited yet? :confused3 It's kind of sad not having them around, but it is very nice that we have some newbies finding us! :goodvibes

I really have no idea. I think I was at 50 or 60 something. I droped down to 18 or 20, but I have gone above and beyond.

I see you are replenishing your supply. :thumbsup2

I have been posting like a dog this past week. I've been a DIS member for 4 1/2 years and I barely passed 1,000 posts. I stopped working last month, when my Kindergartners graduated. I've just been bored this week, and stuck indoors lately due to all the rain we've been having. I butted into a couple new threads (like this one! :teeth: ) so now I have more stuff to post about.

That's what happens when you get 3 days off in a row. I don't work again until Friday night, DD will be going with Grandma and Grandpa (my parents) to see her two GGMAs (that's what DD calls her great-grandmas) tomorrow in Iowa and won't be back until friday afternoon.

Wow I have way too much time on my hands.

OK I am goning to ask the stupid question.
You teach?
I remember my Kindergarten class. That was......wow 1980. I still remember what we did, my teacher is still teaching kindergarten and she remembers me!!! I just saw her the other day. The one thing that I wanted more than anything....I wanted to learn how to read, but she told me I would have to wait until the first grade to do that. Man that crushed my heart.

Well, I was teaching K until I moved here, to VA. Now I'm jobless. I haven't really tried to get a new job here. My own DD starts K this year and I kind of want to take the year off so I can be there for all her fun stuff.

That's cool your teacher still remembers you! Back then we didn't learn how to read in K, but I sure teach my students to read in K! Every year most of my students astound me with how much they learn, and I always have one reading group reading on a second grade level by the end of the year. It makes me so proud!

My cousin (actually second-cousin) Dillon will be in 4th grade this year. Well last year there was some sort of test that he took or something. Well, he is at (or was at) a 6th grade reading level!!! I couldn't believe that. He taught himself how to read using the Harry Potter books, sesame street, and school.
He's one smart guy!!!
