We will be at the Fort the last week of January. I picked up 3 day unlimited passes to Universal Studios from an American Express promotion (about 90 bucks). Really have never visited there other than a brief afternoon years ago at IOA. So this trip, we may or may not do any Disney parks and strictly visit Universal. Remainder of time we want to spend just enjoying the fort. How much time should we allow for driving from the fort to Universal during the week days?

Depending on what time you plan on going I would say 30-45 would be a good time to go by sometimes the traffic going eastbound can be a little crazy but not too bad. Have a great time.

I would allow about 20-25 minutes for driving. Don't get on I-4. There is a side road that will take you there easily from the Fort area. Allow additional time for getting into the parks from the parking garage - it's a long walk with some moving sidewalks. I would probably plan an hour to allow for the ride, the parking, the walk and the line through the gate.

Dude,

I stayed at the Fort April 2013 and one day we went over to Universal Studios to make their rope drop. From the Front of the Fort to the Universal parking decks, it's 20 minutes. Take Hwy 536/Epcot Drive off Disney property to I4 and go up to exit 75A (Universal Blvd) - it's 8 miles on I4.

Then allow time for a long walk from the Deck to the turnstiles. It wasn't bad at all.
