im going to disney world and staying at all star sports. i am in a wheelchair. wich would you guys think is better... take the disne transpotation to the park,or to drive from the resort to the parks? we are driving there so we will have the van anhow/

HC parking is pretty convenient at AK and EPCOT. If you get the closest lot, near the busses, at the studios it is good, too. If you are going to the studios later in the day, take the bus.

Always take the bus to MK. The HC parking is awful at MK, after you park you'd need to go down and up a fairly steep ramp under a roadway, then board the monorail (more ramps) or boat to MK from the TTC.

Both ways have their plusses. With the busses you don't have to worry about traffic, parking, etc. and you don't use your gas. But you are dependent on their schedule and if there are already two wheelchairs in front of you you have to wait for the next bus.

With your van you can come and go as you please and go directly to places the busses don't go directly to (park to park, etc.). A downside is that the busses drop off closer than the handicapped spots get you so you have to go farther to get into the park. The Magic Kingdom is even worse as you have to park at the TTC and take either the monorail or ferry over to the park while the resort busses drop you off right outside the park.

Also the buses pick up 1st at the Sports, then they go to the other All Stars.

We've been to both Epcot and the Studios later in the day when all the Handicapped parking was filled. DH had to drop off DD and me and then park.
One of the minuses of driving.

That reminds me of the first time we took a foreign exchange student to WDW. She felt she was too 'adult' for MK and didn't want to go there at all. After a few days, she asked us if we were 'allowed' to leave WDW or were 'required' to stay there. (Like we were being kept in prison or something).:lmao:
We told her we weren't 'required' to stay, but we chose to stay and have fun. The last day at Epcot, she finally let go and had some fun - so we had a 17 yr old playing in the kiddie water fountains with the little kids and joking about the "Squish-squish" noise her totally soaked shoes made.
