Welcome!! Yes, we certainly took advantage of that convenience for sure. Very enjoyable!! It was chilly up there though when we were there!! Thanks for stopping by!!

What a cute little ice tray!! I enjoy the Cali Grill. Haven't been since they refurb it though. Sounds like a scrumptious dinner!

Great pic's by the DD! She's got a good eye.

I used ice cubes from that tray tonight. Because castle ice cubes. We really enjoyed our dinner. The funny thing is, Nathan wanted that ressie so he could impress Lizzy. And they were all like scarf and run. Whatever dude!! Anyhoodle, we really loved our dinner there.

She really does have a good eye. She needs to be my official photographer for sure. Because I suck at it - haha

Day 3 – Part One

EPCOT!!!

Today was EPCOT day!!!

I don’t have breakfast photos, so I guess I grabbed a breakfast bar we brought from home. We rode the monorail over to Epcot.

You guys – if you have never taken the chance to ride the monorail into Epcot, I urge you to do it just once. It circles you through Future World and it is the coolest thing. We’ve done it at night as well and it is even cooler.

View from the monorail

We got off the monorail and headed down the ramp – into complete chaos. It seems that ALL of the school groups that were there this week had today slated for their Epcot day as well. It took us 45 minutes to get through security and the ticket line.

We had a fast pass later for Soarin’, so we bolted over to Test Track to check the wait. 90 minutes already. Nope.

DD went off to take photos while DH and I got some coffee and checked out the topiaries.

DH says Goofy is most certainly from East Tennessee – haha. And I believe him. DH is from Grundy, VA which is close to the East Tennessee border, so he knows what’s up.

After we finished our coffee, we headed over to ride The Land and meet up with DD for Soarin.

I was soooo excited about the new Soarin’ film. This was our first time seeing it. We got front row center without even asking – YAY!!

And – we LOVED it!! It was the only time we got to do it this trip. I can’t wait to see it again!!

After that we went back over to Test Track to check the wait for the single rider line. It said 45 minutes, so we decided to take a chance.

It only took 25 minutes to get through, so that was good.

With that placating DD for rides, it was time to head over to World Showcase!!

Next up for food was

The Cider House

From this booth we shared

Freshly Baked Lemon Scone with Crème Fraîche and Mixed Berries (vegetarian & gluten-friendly) $3.75

This was YUM!! I love lemony things!! Add some berries and some cream and I’m a happy girl.

I searched for the egg – found it put my sticker on the map. And we moved on.

Next up was

The Fleur de Lys Booth in France

http://s1092.photobucket.com/user/jecskc/media/Disney 2017/Day 3/Fleur-de-Lys-Booth.jpg.html

From this booth we got.

Tarte à l’Onion Alsacienne: Alsatian Onion Tart with Sautéed Onions, Fresh Thyme and Rosemary on a Flaky Puff Pastry Crust (V) – $4.75

This was good and savory. We enjoyed it.

And then to drink we got – the BEST DRINK EVER!!

La Vie en Rose Frozen Slush: Grey Goose Vodka Orange (St. Germain Liquor) White and Red Cranberry Juice $9.95

I love this drink. It is so pink and tasty and delightful.

Moving on

Next on our list was the Florida Fresh booth

[

We chose

Shrimp and Stone-ground Grits with Andouille Sausage, Sweet Corn , Tomatoes and Cilantro (GF) – $6.50

This was delicious and very enjoyable. Nice and hot.

I will also like to point out that – on this day – I ate scallops and shrimp. And I was fine. Just fine. I do have a lobster allergy, but I’m fine with shrimp. My doctor said it had something to do with the iodine content in the shell of the shellfish. So I avoid lobster and crab. Put that info away for later. It will come into play.

Moving on to the next booth.

http://s1092.photobucket.com/user/j...andgarden_tasteofmarrakesh_booth2017.jpg.html

From this booth we chose.

Baklava (V) – $4.00

Moving on to Japan.

I’ve been finding the eggs in each country. I didn’t take photos because I didn’t want to spoil it for anyone. Also, I will post my map at the end of this day. So there will be a spoiler alert!!

Japan

From this booth we got

Pulled Pig Slider with Coleslaw and Crispy Onions – $6.00

This was good – the bun was a little dry – but it had a ton of flavor. Good flavor. I don’t remember crispy onions being present at all.

And the

Beer Flight – $9.50

I had the light one – DH had the other two.

We cried uncle at this point and couldn’t eat any more. Plus, we had a Ressie at Whispering Canyon later that evening.

Next, we moved on to Germany.

DH got another beer. He really loved the Oktoberfest in Germany.

DH and I both have deep genealogical roots in Germany and we had a quite nice conversation with a lady there we were talking to about genealogy. I just love that kind of thing.

I love taking the monorail to Epcot. So much fun!! So....what up with no bacon cupcake at the American Smokehouse booth?! Granted I haven't been to F&G in two years, but dang that thing was good! I can't believe they took it off the menu. Florida Fresh was my favorite of the food booths back then. That shrimp and grits was good. I was not offended. :)

I agree that La Vie en Rose slush is good, but the Grand Marnier one is my favorite.

I am loving the Mary Blair inspired Figment shirt. Super cute!

Have you done it at night - monorail to Epcot? It is super cool.

I dunno why they took that cupcake off the menu. I never had it

You see me eating that shrimp, right?? I was FINE. I was also not offended. Nor were my histamines.

I have never tried the Grand Marnier one, to be honest. I love the pink one and the passion one they have at F&W and the lemon one.

I love me some Mary Blair. All. Day. Long.

Day 3 – Part Three

After a long day at Epcot. With 19,238 steps and 8 miles on my fitbit -we were beat. Once we got back to Bay Lake, the big kids had already eaten quick service and said they were heading back out again. So DH, DD and I rested a while. And then we caught the boat over to Wilderness Lodge.

I just love this resort. We have stayed here before, but I would love to do it again!! It suited our mood because that night the temps really dropped and barely made it into the 60’s the next 3 days. I was loving it!!

We were seated in the back where it was a little quieter and we were happy with that. Our waiter was awesome and played along a little with the shenanigans, but not too much which was fine. There was a large part next to us that he was really entertaining and that was fun to watch.

DD got a milkshake as her drink. These endless milkshakes are delicious, but I warned DD – she would be full by the time the food came.

Since DD is the pickiest person alive, I asked him if he could get her some macaroni and some onion rings for her meal. He said he could make that happen and he did!!

http://s1092.photobucket.com/user/jecskc/media/Disney 2017/Day 3/IMG_3624.jpg.html

Of course she was full from the milkshake and ended up taking half the mac and cheese back to the room.

DH and I decided to get

Featuring Slow-Smoked Pork Ribs, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Roasted Glazed Chicken, Oak-Smoked B">All-You-Care-to-Enjoy-Skillet - Starting with Family Style Mixed Greens tossed in an Apple Vinaigrette dressing and fresh-baked cornbread

Featuring Slow-Smoked Pork Ribs, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Roasted Glazed Chicken, Oak-Smoked Beef and Western-style Sausage, served with Seasonal Farm Fresh Vegetables, Mashed Yukon Potatoes, Cowboy-style Baked Beans, and Corn on the Cob.

(seasonal pricing) $29.99-33.99 per person

First we got the cornbread.

YUM. Warm, homestyle goodness right here. I had to hold myself back from eating too much.

Then the salad came

This was OK. It had too much dressing for me. I’m a dressing on the side kind of girl. I am a person who actually enjoys the taste and fresh crunch of fresh veggies. I don’t like my salad swimming in dressing. Otherwise, it was a decent salad.

Then came this huge plate of deliciousness.

http://s1092.photobucket.com/user/jecskc/media/Disney 2017/Day 3/IMG_3626.jpg.html
So much YUM. Since we had been pigging out all day, we weren’t super hungry so we didn’t need a second helping of anything. But all of this was good and we really enjoyed it. DH especially. He just loves this kind of food.

Dessert from previous post

DD wanted some cheesecake so the waiter brought her this to go.

It is caramel cheesecake. She ate it later and loved it.

For dessert, DH got

Whispering Canyon Campfire-style Chocolate Gooey Cake $8

I didn’t taste this, but he really liked it.

And I got.

Granny Smith Apple-Caramel Tart - with gelato $9

I just love apple desserts especially when the weather is cool. It reminds me of Fall in the Midwest where I grew up. My grandma had an apple tree in her front yard and we would climb it and get apples for apple crisp and things like that.

And y’all – this had a layer of CARAMEL inside of it. It was so yummy and comforting to me.

The large party just next to us had several children. They were winding down and one of the youngest – a little boy was starting to get that look. You know the one that says – I’m just about DONE.

I tuned to DH and said MAN DOWN!! And just then, the emotional breakdown began. I felt bad for the little guy, but it was sort of funny to see it all go down. They packed him up with everyone else and made their way out.

Also, someone dropped a huge clip of money that DD found. We gave it tour waiter and he said he could probably get it back to them by finding the phone number on their reservation. I hope they got it back. It looked like a lot of money.

We paid out tab and headed back out to the boat dock just as the Electric Light Parade was passing by.

I just love the ELP. Such a fun little water parade!!

http://s1092.photobucket.com/user/jecskc/media/Disney 2017/Day 3/IMG_3631.jpg.html

Our boat came and we all bundled on. Our boat captain was amazing. He sang to us.

He sang A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow and When You Wish Upon a Star. His voice was amazing and we were entranced. We all clapped when he docked the boat back at the Contemporary.

We made our way up to the room and settled in for the night.
