Hi
We are staying at Vero Beach after our cruise.
The drive to vero looks like it take slighly over a hour.

Any advice on if to take the intersate or the coast road( assume this would be more scenic?)

Any nice stops along the way?

Thanks all

There are three options to get from the airport to Vero Beach. The first is crossing back to the mainland and heading down I 95. Don't do this! The second involves crossing back to the mainland and driving down US1. This will put you on the western side of the Indian River. It's a nice drive, with some pretty water views. The route I would recommend is drive down the coast road A1A. Beautiful beach views almost all the way. If you're interested in the early space program, there is a small museum at Patrick Air Force Base. The Air Force space and missile Museum is small, and run entirely by volunteers, but does have some interesting items. Because it's on the Air Force Base however, you will need military access, or book a separate tour through Kennedy space Center. In Indiatlantic there's a nice boardwalk area along the ocean with convenient parking. I also think the best pizza in Florida is in Indiatlantic at Bizzarro's

Thank you. Thats fantastic and just what i needed. The board walk and pizza sounds great

Take A1A--very scenic and only 3 minutes longer than a stressful drive down I-95. The stop for pizza and the boardwalk @Indiatlantic is highly recommended also. There are some very nice beachfront parks south of Melbourne Beach, and other points of interest along the way too (Ponce de Leon Landing site, Treasure coast museum etc).

When I did this I took A1A. It seemed like too much work to get back out to I-95 after I picked up the rental car near the port. It was nice drive, but it seemed to take longer than I-95 b/c of driving through smaller towns and hitting stop lights and such.

We did the opposite route. We stayed at Vero before our cruise. We embarked on a Wednesday morning and took A1A the whole way from Vero to PC. The total drive time was in the 50-55 minute range.
