Hi, my family and I are planning to drive from Idaho (Twin Falls) to Disneyland with a 3 yr. old and 1yr. old in June  I was just wondering how other Idahoans break down the driving on the way down there and back. On the way down there we will stop in Vegas, but I don't know a good stopping point on the way back. Any info. and hints will be a good bit of help at this point. Thanks

PS
Tell me the drive will be OK, I wanted to fly and my husband wanted to drive, he wins. :(

The drive is not that bad at all and you'll save a lot of money that you can spend on the trip. We live in Boise and it ususlly takes us abt 13 hrs. However we usually go a diiferent route - We go from Boise-Winnemucca-Fallon-Hawthorne-Bishop-Anaheim. The traffic seems so bad from Vegas to Anaheim the one time we did it that way. My Dad was also a truck driver and reccomended this as the fasted route- just dont go through Reno, it adds almost 2 hrs. I believe you can get to Winnemucca through Jackpot coming from Twin. We usually stay in Bishop, making it a short drive in the morning to Disneyland. Hope this helps and offers an option.

Hi!
We are heading from Twin to Anaheim in June (6 of us - 3 adults and 3 kids). After penciling out the cost of the hotel, gas etc....we lucked out on some fares from BOI for $181 (tax & fees included ) through Alaska Airs website. We got Howard Johnson rooms for $51.75/night including tax for the 5 nights we will be there---we may change this if we find a better deal. We will rent a car for a day or 2 while there. Curious as to what you find out on the driving....with a 3 yr old and 2 8yrs olds and 2 Tyoe A dads on a time crunch, driving got pushed aside. Good luck! I will have to pass on what I have on the driving when I find those notes. Go to one of the free trip planners that maps out your dirve and time.

Well, I think that we may fly. Thanks to southwest, but we would have to fly from Salt Lake! But plans are not final, anyone else?

Okay, I'm about to prove my geography SUCKS right now!! My folks live in Post Falls ... they go into Montana then back into Idaho, spend the night somewhere in south Idaho just before the Utah border, and then can usually make it from there to Vegas in a day, then Vegas to So Calif in another day.

Well if ya drive by Orem Utah wave to the Walmart there as knowing my luck Ill be there :)

As for break points- I dont know my Idaho geography too well but from my house (Orem Ut) Vegas is usually 5/6 hours away and DL is 9/10 depending on traffic and amount of cops in the area ;)
