Drive a car AND use ART shuttle?

Anyone ever drive a car and park at DL and then use the ART shuttle back to the hotel in the afternoon and back to the park on the shuttle in the evening?

Seems like you waste SO much time mid day going back to the parking structure

Also, seems like the ART shuttle never comes on time to get you there early in the morning.

I've never heard of people doing it, but you're right, getting to the car and out of the garage takes ages!

Where are you staying?

staying at Embassy Suites South. We've stayed there before and I remember waiting for the shuttle in the morning and then giving up and driving the car over.

I'd like to stay till the park closes, but I don't know if we can do it without a break in the afternoon.

I don't really care if I have to pay for parking and a shuttle pass. I just thought using the shuttle mid-day might save time as opposed to getting the car out of the parking structure.

We used the ART from HOJO and it was horrible. Definitely not worth the money from that hotel. My wife hurt her back and that's why we sprung for the short ride but we ended up walking most of the time because it would never show up.
I have heard good things about ART but I can't recommend it.

I wonder why some of the time, ART does not work out for people, but at other times it works out just fine?
During my trip this past August, I patronized ART for several days, three in a row, to be exact. I never had to wait more than a few minutes, if at all. I had just missed my bus at Disneyland by seconds, but I was fine with that. For I said to myself, it will not only be back soon, I cannot think of a better place to wait for a bus, than at Disneyland he he! In less than ten minutes, my ART appeared. Never a problem for me. The drivers were very nice and friendly, unlike one driving for OCTA. My morning drivers told me about their afternoon break, and also what the last times were, for them, regarding final departures after Disneyland closes. At the time, ART drivers take a break between 1-2 in the p.m. I hope that ART always works for me as smoothly in the future, as it had in the past. Matter of fact, I was thinking about some complaints regarding ART, from this site. And I thought wow, I am having a perfectly fine time with this system. I am sorry, that it did not work out so smoothly for some people. I do not know why exactly for the cause.

We've used ART and had no problem. Both times we were at Comfort Inn Maingate down on Harbor. Had to wait a few minutes, but it didn't bother us.

Take a good look at the routes. The route that serves embassy is different then the one that serves the RI Garden Grove, which is about a quarter mile away. So it gives you the option of taking two different routes back from the park (whichever shows up first) since it really is a very short walk.

We had no trouble at all with ART when we were there in September and stayed at RI Garden Grove.

I hope I'd have your luck in ART as I'm relying on it for our upcoming trip, and we don't have much time in hand. I've heard so many negative comments about them

I too hope that ART will work out for you and your family, as well as it had for myself and many other people as well.
Most definitely remember to visit City Hall in Disneyland, to request your first visit button, in the event it will be your first visit, of course. They also have anniversary buttons, and birthday buttons as well. If you have not made any priority seating arrangements as of yet, it would be a great idea to do so, as soon as possible, in the event that you will be dining at any of the table service restaurants. I love the Blue Bayou, and hope that it is on your itinerary or might become so. I recommend arriving approximately 20 to 30 minutes or so, early to check in for your p.s. so as to request a water side table.

We are BACK home from our weekend Saturday trip. While using the ART shuttle mid- day could still be a good idea in theory, it didn't work. The whole point was to save time getting the car out of the parking lot (took 60 minutes total getting out and then returning back in).

We wanted to maintain flexibility. Maybe we would leave mid day, maybe not.

Walked to the shuttle area... easy not crowed. Found the ART Kiosk for ride passes. KIOSK WAS SOLD OUT OF 1 DAY PASSES. So, we trekked to the car etc...

We were away from the park 3 hrs. 60 minutes of that time was spent on travel. We stayed at Embassy suites south, about a 10 minute drive away from the park.

You can purchase the ART passes ahead of time. The hotels that offer ART, do sell them. You can also order on line. Or just pay for one way. The passes are not available via the ART shuttle, however, again, you can just pay the regular fare, once on it.
