Is it possible to just go in and enjoy an adult or soft beverage :drinking1 at some of the more interesting restaurants, like, for example, San Angel in Epcot, or the Brown Derby in MGM?

I don't think that it would be a problem.... just make your PS as normal, and maybe order an appetizer to nibble with your drink?

You're spending money, and drinks (especially alcoholic) can eventually cost the same as a meal. Or nearly as much!

Have fun!!

This is highly discouraged. During a slower period, I don't think it would be a problem, but ordering just drinks during peak lunch or dinner hours is probably going to have the manager asking you to move to the bar or the Cantina.

Plus keep in mind, the waitstaff really count on the tips during the meals. If you take up a table and only have a cocktail your bill we be low. A low bill like that means less revenue for the restaurant, but more importantly,a very small tip for the waitstaff. Taking up a table for a soft beverage wouldn't really be fair. If you want to experience these restaurants how about having a cocktail and a couple of appys to share at least? Otherwise you can bring your drink from the Catina outside into the Mexican pavillion and walk around or sit on the bench by the restaurant and soak up the atmosphere.
