This year husband and I get to have a date night away from my group (Sister and brother).

I am a budget-er and need to be able to know I have enough money to cover most everything and maybe a little more. (I love the dining plan for that reason... Free Dining is even better. :) )

My question: Does All ears or wdwinfo have menus for the carts that sell the alcoholic drinks? or is there a rough estimate on how much these drinks cost?

I love me some fruity drinks and Husband likes beer and sake types.

Any tips? We will probably attempt to share drinks or at least take smalls sips from each other. I have never ever been drunk and husband has a high tolerance. I will probably cheat and only do half of the countries. Obviously not on an empty stomach and as we are going in August I know hydration will be very very very important.

I would also like to know what are some of your favorites!

Thanks in advance!!!

I would estimate average cost at about $8. Some will be more, some less. We have drank around the world many times. I think the most we have paid is about $15 for a premium wine in Italy.

The best, IMO, are the margaritas in the Tequila Cave, not the ones from the machine at the kiosk outside, the ones actually inside the Mexican pavilian. Since that place opened, I am not as interested in drinking the over sugared foo-foo things around the World that do not contain a lot of alcohol. My favorite is the jalapeno margarita, followed by the pineapple margarita.

Sorry I think the above estimate is LOW.

Earlier this month it was my plan to have a few drinks around WS and whoa, couldn't do it, too expensive. No way did I budget enough this time around.
Next time will be different. ;)

The margarita bar is fab, the drinks start at $12.50 there.
The Grey Goose Slushie/Grand Marnier Slushee are $9 each.
We had the Pina Colava at Ohana along with a margartia and each of them were $9. I think the marg. there was a bit more.
Those prices are without tip.

As for beers I am not sure, but I would allow at least $10 per beer.
Then if you have $$ left over yay! But if you haven't planned enough you will be like me and be left "dry". LOL

Enjoy your trip and your drinks!!

If you take into account all the mixed/frozen drinks and all the beers, I think the first poster is pretty close when saying to figure an average of $8 a drink. $9 if you want to play it safe. Most beers around the WS are between $6-$8 (usually less expensive than the other drinks).

I did this back in May, on a day when the temp was over 90. It got tough towards the end from the heat. If it is that hot, make sure you each drink a bottle of water at every other stop. Water will run you about $2.50 a bottle.

Thanks for the advice!

There are 11 countries... 10 dollars (on the safe side per country) times 2... 220 dollars... whew... time to keep saving!

Hmmmm maybe we will split it 5 countries... would only be aprox 50 each. That is more budget savy.

Time to show the spreadsheet to the husband!!!

Thanks for the post!! We are planning on drinking around the world in 6 days and are getting so excited!! Glad we have been saving for the booze! LOL!! :lmao:

One thing DH & I noticed 1st at Germany & then in another country (can't remember which one) the beers in the back near the restaurant are cheaper then up front. What I mean is you can get a Spaten in Germany from an outside stall for about $0.50 more than if you walk back to where Biergarten is & get one from the Quickserve place.

Another option would be to let your hubby drink around the world and since you aren't a big drinker you can drink/eat around the world and while he drinks you snack a bit and have him try whatever you snack on. This way you won't get yourself sick and also it will constantly give him something to absorb the alcohol.

Sounds like you only have an evening and not all day so trying to drink 10 drinks in an evening could be challenging on your liver, pocketbook and you would just be rushing around. I would pick out four or five and enjoy just being somewhere. As it gets closer to Illuminations people start to camp out and it becomes challenging to find a seat so consider hitting some of the outdoor drink stands later where one of you can go grab drinks while the other holds your spot. Also consider having a drink after illuminations when the crowd is making a mad dash for the exit you can relax and drink while everyone else is fighting crowds. We had a lot of fun having beers in the pub in England. We met some real Brits on holiday and chatted with them over a few beers.

I have also found that the cheapest beer is inside the Rose and Crown. I got a Stella for only $6. That was 2 years ago but all the kiosks were closer to $10

I have a "slush or is that a Lush" fund for my upcoming trip :lmao:
Does that mean I might have a problem??

Explaining to my husband that you can actually drink your way around the World, and that WDW isn't all fluffy princesses and screaming toddlers is the only way I am getting him to go! LOL! I am budgeting about $300 for our Beer World Tour on our date night!

I cant wait to get back to drink around the world...it was kind of expensive...and we didnt even do it all...I have the beer and liquor drinks on my other computer will post tomorrow

I'm giving away my number one Disney tip...for mixed drinks order a double - it's only $2 more.
