Accroding to Cast Portal at WDW:

Drink prices are to be reduced in June at WDW Quick Service locations as follows
from $2.50 - $2.00 on the following:
- 20oz Contour Bottle of Soda (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite)
- 20oz Contour Bottle of Minute Maid Lemonade
- 20oz Contour Bottle of Nestea Ice Tea
- 24oz Sport Bottle of Dasani water

Powerade will remain $2.50

Thought you might like to know...this is evidently a test for the month of June...hope it sticks!

This is a test at MK and AK only

I'm shocked. I always thought Disney only knew how to raise prices.:scratchin

Sounds as though Disney executives have been lurking on the boards and reading our complaints!

I hope it works and becomes park-wide before my Labor Day weekend trip!

Thanks for letting us know about the trial! :)

We just returned on June 10 and paid the higher prices like $2.50 for a bottle of coke :(

Must had just gone into effect because we bought cokes several times at stands, vendors and they were the contour bottles which were $2.50 June 1 thru June 8.

Oh well at least they are not as high as $2.75 for a coke bottle which are the contour shape at Universal studios vendors:earseek:

Hmmm that brings down the value of the meal vouchers at AK.

I have to admit, I would never pay 2.50 for a bottle of soda/water but I could handle 2.

Maybe Disney is finally figuring out most people are bringing in their own beverages!

herc.

I noticed last month that they were selling smaller bottles of water for $1.25. I liked that, the 24oz bottles are too big.

I am sure that it is in response to the heat and recognition of how many people bring their own refillable bottles into the parks.

We bought the $2.50 bottles the first day...one for each of us. Instead of throwing out the empty bottles, we refilled at lunch & dinner. Each night I'd wash them out thoroughly in the hotel, in the morning fill em all up with iced-cold water at the food court beverage dispensers.
To help keep them cold thoughout the day, I wrapped each in a wet cloth and placed together in a baggy. We then shared from one bottle till it was empty. If you're germaphobe then get your own bottle :teeth:

We should comment when we purchase the reduced-priced items that we appreciate the lowered price on these items and maybe they will pass the comments on to the powers-that-be and it might make an impression. :teeth:

If these are a taxable item anyway, they would be smartest yet to lower to $1.99. It's a mental image and that 'under $2' price might make a world of difference to some people between buying and not buying without them ever realizing it.

I remember hearing this same rumor about a year ago, and as far as I know nothing came of it. I would be interested to see if this actually happens or not.

And to only have it be at AK and MK, won't that cause a lot of angery guests who got the same beverage at one park for $2 and then had to pay $2.5 at MGM or Epcot?

Oh, probably, but, Disney's attitude is c'est lavi.

Dh and I have brought shoulderstrap refillable bottles.

Just the cost to purchase drinks and having to stand in line detered us.

We now have water whenever we want it, including in the long line before a ride. It's actually more convenient for us. Even if we are carrying something.

Madison :)
::yes:: ::yes::

Not reducing Poweraide though..my luck..that is what we drink in the parks from the outside stands mostly....:(
