We are taking on a bottle of our favorite, ok, My favorite, vodka...does anyone know if they sell cans or bottles of tonic or should I plan on bringing that also?

Thanks!

Vicki

We ordered a six can deal through room service, for around $8 - $9. I don't remember exactly what was available, but DCL carries mostly Coke products (Coke, Sprite, etc.).

outahere: Thanks for the info. Off to read the label of my tonic water to see if Coke makes it!

LOL! That's an idea! I hadn't thought of that, saves having to carry anymore heavy bottles! So if anyone sees someone going to the drink station for oj with a half full glass already......starting June13th....you'll know who it is!

Thanks for your input!

As one vodka drinker to another -

If it is good vodka - go for tonic - you can enjoy a better vodka this way - I am sure they sell vodka on the ship -

You could always have Shirley put a couple of tonics in a gift basket -

I think it's good vodka...they charge enough for it!....Grey Goose...yummmmm.....can't drink any other! I think I'll stick to my usual tonic and not spoil the taste with oj!

:wave2: Here's to my fellow Disney fanatic vodka drinkers :cool1:
(Now that I re-read that sentence it didn't make much since...might be time for happy hour!)

I myself had been debating over the "mixer" issue - we must get our priorities straight here! And, about a month ago I read on the boards this following quote:

As far as the soda, it's Coke products, but the soda program also gets you club soda or tonic. I got pretty tired of diet coke, so I had them give me tonic water with a lime in it most of the time.

It doesn't say though exactly where you can get the tonic - it was not listed as one of the drinks available on deck 9 drink station. And, I really don't relish the thought of having to run up to the drink station (or restaurant) everytime I want to make a drink!
So, to play it safe . . . maybe a bottle of tonic along side the Grey Goose in your luggage.

That's what I will probably have to do. Was just hoping they had the tonic on board at a reasonable price so I could bring more Goose to drink!:drinking1 Hehehe

Now I have probably given you all the wrong impression...I am really not a lush.....::yes:: Only on vacation and maybe after a long day at work and then having to deal with my 15 yo...that's the only times I indulge!:smooth:

We just got off the 5/1 Eastern Sailing and we bought the kids a soda card and us 1 mug. We were worried about Tonic as well so we bought a few of the little bottles to take with us but right on the Soda package it listed what you got for soda and tonic was included in the soda package. We got it from every single bar on the ship and made our own Gin and Tonic's. We were also able to go to the bars and request fresh limes and they would give us a huge cup full. Had I known I could have just gotten tonic water with my kids soda card I wouldn't have lugged it on with me in my day bag!

Thank you! Just what I needed to know!

Also I have read some of your posts and I am sorry that your cruise was less than Magical.....

It's ok...we did have fun just not the kind of fun we expected. I almost have my trip report completely finished and I will post it hopefully if I can get hubby help me make a webpage complete with pictures tonight or I will post it without pictures tonight and then do a follow up post with the pics.

Have a great time on your cruise!
Heidi

Heidi - thanks for the tonic (and fresh lime) info -- a few less items to worry about in my carry-on. I had been anxiously awaiting your trip report and I too was so sorry to hear that your trip wasn't as magical as you had anticipated. I think that all of us though, at one time or another in our lives, has had a similar vacation disappointment. But, you don't sound like the type of person to let it get you down - no doubt there's plenty more vacations for you and your family to enjoy over the years.

jersesyjanie--I wish I had known about the limes and tonic ahead of time but it was ok. The bartenders were GREAT about both for us. Maybe it's because I was just too sick for the most part to drink much so they gave them out more freely I dont know! LOL :teeth: But getting the tonic from the bar was MUCH MORE convenient then lugging on bottles!

I posted my trip report...and looking back a few days later and feeling better now I realize that we did have some GREAT times...we just didn't realize how hard it would be to entertain the kids if they hated the clubs!

It was still fun no matter how many bad times we had and just being at the beach with the kids building sand castles and sitting in the water with them was worth it's weight in gold. The memories are definitely worth everything we encountered and after a few days home I realize I'm still glad we went!

Heidi-I read your trip report last night! Thanks so much for a wonderful a bed time read. I like reading about the good and the 'bad' experiences. I am glad that there were those special moments and we all know that every vacation can not be completely perfect. Thanks for all of your information!
