Here is one more thing.....the time we stayed at Poly we all bought mugs the moment we got there, well do to some big issues we moved the next morning and since we had just spent like $60.00 on poly mugs...what to do???????
the GF was more than sweet and said we could use our poly mugs but we said we would feel funny cause peeps would look at us like we would be stealing (when we werent)! they gave us all new GF mugs and told us have a grand day!

I posted this once before n another post. Before I starting reading this forum in March od this year I didn't know that the mugs were not re-usable from visit to visit. As we purchased 4 frm (Dixie Landings that was the name of the resort back then) and I do have the orginal receipt and brochure advertisement that was in the brochure in the room that states "Buy a souvier mug and use it on all future returns to Disney World"Now mind you I have purchased other mugs (didn't re-use the orginal ones)since only because we forgot to pack ours. So just maybe there are those few that don't know.
But now that we know we will buy new ones as I do agree if you know and do it then you are taking advantage of the system and that is a form of stealing. But they have to live with theirselves.

My guess is yes, some do use the mugs based on the fact that that is how they were purchased. We have a number of them from various resorts and I do believe that Disney does honor their old policy for those that have the mugs. I think part of the reason that this may have been changed is due to the fact that many purchased other peoples mugs on ebay etc. Just a thought.

I don't steal the drinks. If you read my previous posts you will have noticed I have never witnessed this and I condemned myself using the photoshare and me using the comparisons of the 2 meals was A JOKE to get a laugh. No way is sharing meals unethical. Do you think so?

I was saying if you complain about "this" why not complain about
"that" IN GOOD FUN! I was in no way mocking anyone as I stated in my post. I have never said I had 4 instead of 3 in my party to get the reservations or taking drinks. I believe in following the rules and I don't cheat as for the photoshare which some believe is unethical and I haven't decided for myself. I am still reading the posts and thoughts on that one. I apologize to you if you viewed me as that.

I didn't respond to your postings, why would you assume I meant you? I gave my opinion to a new person who asked a question. About this very silly subject. This has all been interesting but hardly worth getting worked up about. It's just another mug debate with a different title. Hmmm...I wonder how we could rename the pool hopping question to get it started again??;) (not).

I was joking or using sarcasm. quote "people get so worked up over the silliest nit-pickiest things" :rolleyes1

I do consider myself thrifty and try to save money. I was trying to lighten the mood.

No, no, I knew you were just trying to lighten the mood :) -but I assume these are actual things that people complain about on here?

No you couldn't make that arugment. Disney can put whatever price they want on anything they sell. Just because you think that price is high does not give you the right to take it.

I honestly think that so many people turning a blind eye, or making excuses, is a big part of the reason that this country is such a mess. How about being held accountable for your actions? How about having morals, not just trying to get away with whatever you can? What happened to just doing the right thing?

Wow, seriously? Even Coke advertises that you SHOULD steal sips!!!! Come on, give me a break! I think this thread is so silly (which is why I keep reading on)! I'm in law school and let me tell you that sip stealing isn't corroding this country and is really NOT that big a deal! Also, I've never seen anyone walk up to the soda counter with a cup from home and fill it (or anything other than a disney cup). I've also never done it, for the same reason that I stop at a red light at 3 in the morning in an empty town when no one is around - its engrained in me. But WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SIP STEALING! geez! :rotfl2:

Hmmmmmmm pool hopping? I didn't know that either. I don't know what it actually means or should I care?

Seriously, I have read so much on here and I have wondered where do people come up with some of the ideas. I have learned things that I would have never dreamed of doing.

Oh, and not worked up at all.

I guess I don't pay enough attention to others to know if they are soda bandits or not. :rotfl2:

I must be really enjoying my trips because my family never notices stuff like this on vacation. We're in our own little "world," I guess.

This is a joke right? Any second now someone is going to post a big "GOTCHA". I hope so because some of the responses I've read condoning stealing on any level, from soda to actual merchandise lead me to believe some of you are nuts. Rationalizing that Disney is a big company and won't miss it, or that they factor in for cheaters is pure insanity, and if my comments offend you, then you are likely a guilty party. Seriously, some of you need help.

Al, I LOVE YOU! :rotfl: :rotfl: YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY!

Definitions cut many ways, some people attempt to show their own moral superiority by mocking the faith/rules/morality of others. They consider themselves quite holy in their quest to prove that nothing really matters and truth is relative. They can be quite hypocritical because they yell the loudest when they are challenged but it's ok for them to challenge others.

While I think a lot of people are joking about stealing valuable merchandise, I do think it's horribly wrong that they are making excuses, and that it doesn't matter if they steal soda, since it's so wrong anyway. Stealing is stealing, there are no excuses for it.

I haven't read all 2 billion posts in this thread so sorry if this has already been said.

This is how I would solve all of this so people won't have to argue. :)

Idea taken from refillable mugs for waterparks

-When you buy a length of stay mug you will be given 1 sticker per day of your stay
-Sticker has a barcode that activates the soda machine.
-Each sticker is dated as the barcode that activates the machine changes each day
-put the sticker on your mug for the correct day to get soda
-Use your mug during your trip
-When you leave, take your mug
-When you return, bring your mug back
-Buy stickers only that apply to the dates of your stay

Maybe the stickers can be sold at a discount because you are using an old mug. I would pay $1 or $2 a day to use my mug again.

I am sure there will be people who will find a way around the system ;) by buying one mug and using the sticker for multiple cups but then at least you couldn't say Disney didn't try. :)

They are actual DIS issues that draw major fire. Crazy but true. You'll see someone new ask an innocent question sometimes then get smashed and bashed by the Dis police.

If the glass slipper fits! (Are you perfect? All the time?)

Great idea actually! Love it, and very surprised Disney does not do this.

Nope. Simply mocking anyone who takes this thread seriously. :rotfl2:
Yeah, what you said!

Excellent Point! Please note that mine was simply the response to someone else's posting. This thread is just a silly bit of fluff, but it has an undercurrent that seems to be holding everyones attention....
