Drink Cheaters???

yes, you are 100% right, one day, all the coke will be free to live its own life.

I agree with your principal of not letting other people get to you, but seriously, I don't think you could have used a worse analogy to compare it to. People who don't spend the money for a new cup are not fighting any inherent evil, if they were, they wouldn't be giving disney all the money for the tickets, hotel, etc... And even in the future, hundreds of years from now there will be no books telling stories of how people took soda to fight the all powerful disney machine.

Disney does pay for that Coke... They may not pay money but rather they pay with valuable marketing. It's a trade off. Actually, a very valuable one.

It is still stealing but I'm not going to let someone else's actions ruin my magic. I'll just refill my purchased mug and be happy.

Actually as someone else has pointed out... Disney doesn't lose anything when people steal coke since Disney gets its coke for free from Coke as part of Coke's marketing.... If ever there was a victimless crime... this is it.

Edited to say: This has to be a joke! I originally wrote a long reply to these comments and after thinking about it decided not to take the bait. April Fools in June?

Wouldn't Disney lose the profits? :confused3

I have been reading this thread and have heard great arguments. Honestly, I have never seen anyone use an old mug or use coke bottles or any other container. Am I oblivious?

Actually you're not the only one that hasn't witness the evil coke bandit slipping stealthily past the armed cashiers to slaim their bounty.

I've never seen anyone do it....

Come to think of it... what if the coke bandit wasn't a coke bandit after all... maybe they bought the mug but left it in their room by mistake... or it was stolen by those over zealous busboys that snagged it while the hapless victim was gone getting napkins... Frankly the this whole thread has made one huge leap of faith in assuming that someone using something other than a mug wasn't entitled to the coke in the first place.

... You tell the cashier you want a particular size soda, they charge you and hand you the appropriate size cup.

Which brings up yet another discussion. At most of the fast food places here in town, you tell the cashier which size drink you want, and he/she hands you a small, medium or large cup. HOWEVER, most people fill up their cups themselves, and are free to refill them during the meal if they wish.

I've often wondered why anyone would pay for the larger cup. Makes no sense to me at all, but I notice people doing so most everytime I stop at one of those eateries. :rotfl2:

Just because you don't see Disney write a check for the product doesn't mean it doesn't *cost* them...they are not free to broker a deal with Pepsi, RC or anyone else. Also, even *if* Coke & Disney worked out an arrangement between the two of them, why would an individual at the hotel be so bold to thick that the deal includes them? If Coke wanted to give you Coke, they could. If Disney wanted to give you Coke, same thing....neither did. Together, Coke & Disney decided to offer the product for PURCHASE to people at the park...end of story!

Its really easy....IT'S NOT YOURS! Most of us were raised to know that you shouldn't take things that don't belong to you...and I don't buy the "we all have our own morality" gig. Stealing is wrong. Redefining what you are doing, making excuses, and blaming the victim of your theft doesn't make it right.:furious:

I can't believe you guys get all heated up about this. I've seen people use things other than the mugs. I didn't stand there and have some big moral moment. Oh well, not my problem, I bought my mug, that's all I'm worried about. If it was such a huge problem for Disney, they'd do something about it.

:lmao: You are stirring the hornets up! crazy crazy shame on you! :)

To the pp, yeah it is sad too that I read it all and realized with Thomas998 last comment was just stirring the pot. ::yes::

I have been to WDW literally hundreds of times and I have never seen people use anything but WDW cups or refillable mugs.:confused3 If by chance I ever do witness this phenomenon, I will not be the "WDW coke police" and run off to *******

I must have missed the post where people talked about running off to grab a CM, and pointing and shaming the coke stealer.:confused3 Most of us are just calling a spade a spade. Stealing is stealing, and it doesn't make a difference if it is just a coke, or a few t-shirts. Because if you can justify stealing coke, what is to stop you from moving on up to bigger and better things?

:thumbsup2 I agree
all you can do is worry about yourself
I wouldnt tattle for this but if i saw someone stealing from a store or money thats different
if disney really had an issue with this they would be all over it and have a CM stand there and handle it
they dont cuz they really dont care

people who post here care more than disney does
