Drink Around the World??

Hi everyone!


I have heard a few times about an event called Drink Around the World. I belive it takes place in Epcot, and involves sampling drinks from each of the countries. Has anyone heard of this? I have been a part of the wine tasting thing that is similar to this, but believe that this is soemthing totally different. If anyone knows anything about it, please pass the 411 this way! Thanks!

It's an informal, thing, Jennifer.

Folks start at one country by purchasing their libation of choice and enjoying it there. Then, they move to the next country and do the same there, and so forth.

The idea is to have a beverage at each country in the World Showcase. I'd venture to say, though, that they either must do it very slowly (like taking the better part of a night to do it) or skip some countries.

Aren't there 13 countries in the World Showcase? That's a whole lot of drinks! (Not to mention money!)

Thanks Janice!!!!! I was thinking it might be an adventure you do on your own, but I wasn't sure. You are so right about the cost. Can't imagine what it might do to a budget go-er like me! LOL The sad part is, if anyone drinks too much, they might not even rememeber it! I don't know about you.....but I want to remember every minute of every trip I take to Disney!! Thanks Again! For a different version of the same game, you could bar hop along the monorail. We have done that for something fun, and to check out the different resorts!

You can have a non-alcoholic drink as you wander around the world. A variation that I like is "Desserts Around The World", or just plain "Eat Around The World". I have participated in a couple large group Drink Around The World events and we had a lot of fun.

Personally, I like Sleep Around the World where you take naps in the World Showcase films and shows.

Or, perhaps in conjunction with a "Drink Around the World," you could do a "Pee Around the World," where you try out all of the bathrooms.

I read somewhere that Drink Around The World is what Drew Carey likes to do at Epcot.

you could also do chocolate around the world, theres a write up about this one on Debs site.

You could also buy one of the childrens passports and get it stamped in each country that you sample their goods.

I attempted the DATW one time. I wasn't completely successful, but I had fun trying. The PATW I have mastered(I think I've been to every facility on property)

I was at the one last July...wasn't that the first one, TC and SSB?? I only had a couple of drinks...there were pictures posted somewhere on the DIS. It WAS great fun. Truth be told we did not make it ALL the way around, started at UK around 6 pm in the Rose& Crown and went counter clockwise, were at Mexico for Illuminations and so missed Canada

I know for a fact that SSB has been in charge of 3 Drink Around the World events, and I assume he'll gladly sponsor his 4th during DIS-CON!
