I am surprising my hubby with an anniversey cruise at Illuminations. Was planning to go to spoodles and then to the cruise. I am wanting to dress up, with heels and the works. Can you walk on the board walk in heels, or are there spaces in the boards which would wreck havok?

Thanks for the help

The "boards" that make up the Boardwalk are quite close together (no or very little spaces in between). I don't think you will have a problem walking on it in heels.

However, you might have a problem with heels if you are renting the Breathless (yacht) for your cruise, as I'm not sure how the captain might feel after he/she sees your heels and thinks about their effect on that beautiful boat. Heels shouldn't be a problem on one of the pontoon boats. That said, IMHO you should dress for the weather for the cruise - depending on when you go, it could be COLD or RAINY on that boat. (spoken from experience with both conditions) :teeth:

Enjoy the cruise and congratulations on your anniversary!

We will be on a pontoon in May, so hopefully it will be warm enough. Glad to hear that wearing high heels on the boardwalk will be ok (I had an image of planks with large gaps) I also plan to wear heels on other evenings in the Epcot and downtown area (maybe even a late evening in the MK if the hours permit). So Im trying to break some shoes in now.

Thanks for your comments.

Depending when in May you go it still can be chilly at night. Especially on the water and it is an open boat you will be getting some wind. I wore jeans 2 years ago and I was still a little chilly. Also depending where the boat is picking you up if at the Yacht club you should be alright with heels but, if at the Boardwalk you will have to walk down the metal angled ramp to the boat dock. If you have squared off heels you should be alright on the Boardwalk itself but if they are pointy I would say they still might get caught in the gaps. I live near the famous Boardwalk in AC NJ and I have seen ladies tip toeing down the boards with their pointy heels so they would get them caught and I have seen some walk out of them because they did get caught (that is a funny sight!) So you make up your own mind how to dress. Check out the boards the night before for weather conditions and to see the boards yourself if your heels will past the gap test.

Jeff,

What a funny webpage. My girlfriends have already warned me that the World Showcase is a long walk in heels. So I will experiment and report back :)
