I have 2 princesses to dress. I know that they won't like anything itchy (one has aspergers-so I don't mind paying more for comfort). They are going to the character dinner at the GF with Cinderella and Prince Charming. One wants to be aurora (sleeping beauty) and the other wants to be Cinderella in pink. Although, isn't the point of these things to match the princess you are being photographed with? Which would be a blue dress?

Does cinderella's dress even come in pink? dd wants the dress before the stepsisters wrecked it, the dress the mice made. We aren't going to the bibbity bobbity...but I want to do our own version of a do it yourself bibbity bobbity bathroom..blush...eyeshadow...pixie dust..quick updo...voila... in the bathroom by the GF quickly right before.

I was going to get some flat princess shoes, the soft kind, to match the dress. Any idea which ones are most comfortable?

Any suggestions? Maybe we will put them in an updo at the beginning of the day but we won't be using hairspray (allergic), so that is why I thought it could be done just before dinner. How does this sound as a plan?

Believe me I understand as a parent wanting the dress to match the princess.:goodvibes I was so concerned about this last year (as we raced to breakfast in the castle) that I almost missed the most precious pictures of my daughter in her Snow White dress. She was alone on the arch in front of the castle, and the sun was shinning on her she looked almost angelic.

As far as the dress, I have heard wonderful things about My dress up trunk. They have "non" ichy dresses.

I ordered two dresses from My Dress up Trunk for our last trip. They are not itchy at all and very light weight. You can roll it up and put it in a ziplock bag. I have to tell you that when I opened the package I was disappointed. They felt and looked so cheap! But, time was running out and they were to be a surprise to my girls. (Cinderella sent them our hotel room with an invitation to breakfast in her castle :cloud9: ) Anyway, when they put them on I was very pleased. They looked much better on. I ended up loving the dresses.

There is a lady on Ebay that makes a pink Cinderella costume, and also the house maid Cinderella dress. I have never seen either one in a store. It looks like she does a good job. She has over 1000 feedback's and they are all positive. The pink one is on there right now. Just type Pink Cinderella dress in the search. I just ordered a Belle provincial dress today from her. :)

I like your BBB bathroom plan! They also sell those clips w/curls of hair you can add to your dds hair...also you may want to consider a tiara. You didn't say when you are going, but if it is hot, you may want to consider a princess t-shirt instead of a costume. Have a great trip.

For shoes, why not get a pair of cheap white fabric Keds and have them dyed to match the dresses? That would be more comfortable than any of the princess shoes I've seen out there! (not to say there aren't any comfy ones - I just haven't seen them)

If you can sew, why not make your own? That way you can control what materials are in it. (for scratch factor and how heavy/light the fabric is - as well as fabric color!) If your DD's are old enough, they can even help pick out the fabric to feel more involved - make the dresses even more special. It's fine if your DD is pink and Cindy is in blue! They don't have to match. What's important is that your princesses are happy. ;)

Simplicity has patterns that aren't too hard to work with:

If one of them is a toddler, they have little one's patterns too

Love the keds idea. I could make the costumes, because I know how to sew, but I learned how to sew on a bernina and the machine I have is a singer. The difference in machines is very confusing for me (Is it just me?).

I don't know if I would have the time to sew, we go end of Sept, and I have a lot of projects going already, but it sounds really fun. I'll ask the girls about it. I saw the pink cindy dress on ebay, and it is the one the mice made...too cute! It looks like she made her own pattern for that, and the mice dress looks like lots of custom and I know myself, i would want to improve on the colors, make the top bow smaller, and add criss cross ribbon at the bodice and the waist, and do the skirt a little different. Hard, maybe too challenging since I havent sewn in years. I know its going to be hot but they want to dress like princesses.

Does anyone have contact info for this eBay seller? I just went to see the dress and it appears she's no longer posting it. :sad1: It would save me a world of trouble if I could order it from her!
