Headed to WDW for a short solo trip this coming Tues-Fri. If I believe the weather channel, highs will be 60s-70s, and lows down to 40. Planning on a mix of long and short sleeve shirts. Trying ti figure out what coat or coats to take. Not sure my fleece hoodie will be enough. Thinking I may need my somewhat heavier rain jacket also. Whatever heavier cost I take I will wear on the plane. (Coming from Michigan where it’s 25 and snowing, so winter coat is not out of the question, but seems too much.) Anyone there now who can advise? Or just anyone experienced? I’ve been many times, but usually in warmer months.

This is the main reason I prefer August.

This time of year especially when it is definitely going to be highs in the 60's you need to bring a variety.

Even if the high is 75 that is usually only say from 1-3pm. Before and after that its going to be chilly if not down right cold especially when you factor in the humidity. 40-50*F in a humid environment feels colder.

I wear pants, t-shirt, then if its lows 50's highs 70's I usually wear a zip up hoodie.
If its 40's-60's then I'll wear a t shirt and then sweatshirt and zip up hoodie or t shirt and a heavier fleece or even winter coat.

There really is nothing worse than trying to watch fireworks while you're shivering and going into a store to either get warm or buy another layer that you really don't need to spend the money on.

And this is all coming from someone that lives where there's a lot of snow and windchills.

Thanks, this is very helpful. I think I’ll bring also a couple of sweaters, a sweatshirt, the hoodie, and my rain jacket. If the rain jacket fits in my suitcase, I will likely wear my winter coat. I have a couple of late evenings and all early mornings, We actually went in December 2 years ago, but it was much warmer. I never needed more than my fleece.

layers are your friend this time of year. You could be comfortable in anything from shorts and t-shirt to long pants, sweatshirt and a jacket. Some of this depends on what your body is familiar with. Those from up north will probably be just fine with shorts. Those of us who are local will be in long pants.

We often stay in the parks late for parties, etc. If it is 50 degrees when we are there, I am wearing pants and my lightweight puffer jacket. For me, a hoodie wouldn't suffice at night unless it's around 60 degrees.

I always thought Floridians exaggerated about the cold but 40s in FL feels much colder than 40s elsewhere. Definitely pack plenty of clothes that can be layered and a hat and gloves since they take up minimal space in luggage.

I wear shorts and sandals year-round and am local. But, a hoodie or sweatshirt is necessary below 40 degrees. We hit the upper 30's last night and Tuesday is supposed to be mid-upper 30's at night.

I didn't see/hear any rain for our forecast this entire week.

Our first night is Tuesday night and we will be at Epcot. I think it will be funny to take pictures in front of the tree with me in a warmer jacket, mittens and ear muffs! :D

At least it's better than the 15 degrees where I'm at now.

I literally just uncovered my Birds of Paradise plants due to the overnight freeze warning (which is for tonight and likely tomorrow night as well). The good news is we should get warmer by Thursday/Friday.

It's always so hot when we go, will be a nice change. We are there until the next Thursday (12th) so I think it also looks a bit warmer next week.

We will be at Christmas Party on Thursday, jeans and a Christmas sweater should work!

After a zillion trips, I found that my all time very best friend is a HEAT TECH long sleeve shirt from Uniqlo.com to layer. Absolutely, Positively cannot live without it.
Very thin. Can be jammed into anything (backpack, purse, etc.) and takes up no room.

It's the very first thing I pack whether 28 degrees (stayed at Grand Floridian...yep....got down to 28 in January years ago) or 95 (air conditioning is sometimes insane even at resort at night).

Uniqlo is also at a large store at Disney Springs. I buy at my downtown big city, Disney Springs or order from catalog. I have 2 blacks but other colors also.
Yep, cannot live without.

In my daily life anything over freezing is fine not to bundle up, even if it takes 10 minutes for the car to warm up etc. It’s different for me at WDW though, where even the high 50s can make me shiver. The worst is after an evening meal, your tired and hunkering down to watch a night show… it can feel sooooo cold and I do whatever we can to prevent. Mornings can be hard too.

I’ve taken to dressing in thin layers and bringing thin cheap dollar store gloves for all of us, plus a scarf and hat can make a big difference in helping to stay warm with layers and not needing a bulky winter coat. I find this strategy best to avoid carrying very bulky things around with us.

I spend five out of seven days a week there. I freeze when it hits 70. lol. I’m there sometimes before the sun comes up and I’m there sometimes when the sun goes down. It could be 55 degrees, standing in the shade by Spaceship Earth and I have two layers on, a long coat, hat on my head with hand warmers on my ears and gloves on. lol. Walk up on top of the hill, stand by Mickey and Friends in the sun and its shorts and tee shirt weather. Walk into a building and it feels like the A/C is on. Walk into the next building and it feels like the heat is on.
There are guest walking around in shorts and tee shirts and there are others that look like they came from the Antarctic after an open sleigh ride. lol.
Comfort levels are different for everyone and the worse thing is being to cold or having to many clothes on. This time of year through and into the spring around here, you can have three seasons all in one day and everyday is different. Welcome to Florida. lol. The rest of the year…… heaven on earth.

This is the next couple days, to me, that’s just downright uninhabitable. I’ll have Underarmore and two layers on under my outter wear. Long winter coat, hat, gloves and about a dozen hand warmers stuck everywhere. lol.
I work with someone from Canada, he will have shorts on and a light jacket. lol.
