Please help, we are in the 'intimate' category getting married at the Yacht club Gazebo in March.

Unfortunately we're being told there is no area to dress before the ceremony, and we're staying at Caribean beach.

We're also looking at having a 'Girls' party at the Swan to have hair/makeup done so I'm really looking to have an area where we can get dressed before heading to the Gazebo.

Any suggestions??

Aside from your room?.. I don't know whether you are willing to spend any money or not.. but if you are, you might want to look at getting a larger DVC room for the day.. check over on the DVC board to see if you can arrange with someone who has points, it will probably be significantly cheaper than booking with disney. They have rooms that are quite larger, 1-2 bedrooms, with a living room and kitchen.

Otherwise, you can try to arrange your rooms together at CBR. Have CRO put notes with the other reservation numbers in each reservation and a request to have rooms near each other or adjoining rooms.

Thank you for the advice! My future sister-in-law is at the Beach Club and she's offered her room, it's just with 11 of us at the Salon that seems a bit crowded. I've checked with the Yacht Club and they're already sold out for that day (how does that happen?!).

Will look at the Swan/Dolphin hotel as well, thanks again!

you can ask your em about renting a space at one the yc ballroom to dress, i know this was offered when we were planning (custom) for $500 but we (me & my girls) just got dressed in my yacht club room & rented a 2nd room at the yacht club for my hubby & the guys to dress.

your sisters beach club room might also be an option or try renting points or booking through disney a dvc suite at the beach club to get ready then have you & hubby use the suite later for your wedding night. the swan & dolphin also has nice rooms & very comfy beds there are discounts too if your a teacher or nurse.

best of luck with whatever you choose. whens the big day? we were married at the yacht club gazebo march 21st it was an amazing day.

I agree w/ the other posters about renting DVC points. This is what I did, and my BMs are staying w/ me the nights leading up to my wedding. I thought it would be a lot of fun to get ready with all the girls. My mom and aunts are also getting ready with us. We got the 2 bedroom at the BC, and buying it through the DVC rent/trade boards on here saved over $400 just for one night! Good luck :)

Thank you all, can you explain the acronyms? I'm a newbie to the Disney stuff :confused3

if you do a search on the dis theres a list of what all the acronyms are.

dvc - disney vacation club
there's a board here on the disboards.com for renting points from an owner

bc - beach club

yc - yacht club

cbr - caribbean beach resort

cro - central reservations office

bm's - bridesmaids

dh - dear husband, fh - future husband or fi - fiance

Thanks for the advice everyone! Wanted to let the other intimate brides know that unless you're using your own room you will not have an area available before the ceremony for dressing.

So if you're getting your hair/nails done at one of the salons that is not your hotel you will have to make your own arrangements before heading to the ceremony.

The coordinator let me know that this type of area is only available to 'custom' wedding brides and can not even be rented to a member of an 'initmate' ceremony. (Regardless of whether your ceremony is at the site of the hotel, ie.. the Yacht club)

To be honest I feel this is a bit low on the part of Disney not to provide such an area even though they're paying for a wedding as well but maybe that's because I'm just staying a bit far away from the site :-)
