Dresses at the Oscars?

I thought there were too many pale, flesh colored dresses. It really washed the women out. Reese Witherspoon looked fantastic as always. I loved her hair too.

Jennifer Aniston's dress was ok, but I thought the necklace was all wrong. It hung too low or something. It just didn't work for me.

I thought Charlize Theron looked awful. She is such a beautiful woman, but the dress was terrible and her hair was horrible! Too matronly and she had roots showing.

Salma Hayak looked great too, loved the color.

ITA with you. I hope that the nude colored dresses go out soon because they wash most people out - Reese was one of the few exceptions that seemed to be well matched with a paler color.

I agree with Salma. She filled it out well, too. The dress really looked like it was made for her.

I just saw an interview with Reese Witherspoon. She said her dress was a vintage Christian Dior from the 1950's that she found in a thrift shop in Paris. She said it was thrilling to be wearing something of her own, and not something belonging to a designer. She also said that it needed quite a bit of restoration work before she could wear it. It really was beautiful, and it suited her perfectly.

What a find on her part. I think that people look best in clothes that they feel comfortable in. That dress was so beautiful and classic.

Didn't she look in the mirror? Didn't any of her friends see it? How could she choose something so ugly? I always think that I could go to the gown store at the outlet mall and come up with a better dress than 50% of the ladies.

Charlize was terrible. So was Naomi Watts.

I was 'eh' about Reese. It was nice but not spectacular.

I nearly always love Salma. I thought Keira Knightly was wonderful, expect for the mermaid bottom.

I liked Jennifer Garner's dress. I love her. Was Ben with her? I didn't see the red carpet.

I really liked Feclity Huffman's dress. I wish she would have won.

I was 'eh' about most of the dresses - they weren't bad but they weren't anything special...Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Aniston, Uma Thurman,

I didn't really like Maggie Gyllanhall, Michelle Williams (but I didn't like the purple Golden Globe dress people raved about either), Hilary Swank, who's way to skinny, so is Dolly Parton,

I thought Michelle Williams dress was awful. If you have a chest ruffles are bad and if you don't they are worse. No ruffles over the girls.
