Should I bring a princess dress up outfit for my DD3? I read how some kids wear them to tea with Wendy..where else would she wear it?

MY DD, age 5, wore hers to dinner! She thought it was so cool.

My daughter wore one to dinner almost every night! Where else could she dress like a princess and go to dinner!

Mine wore hers to dinner as well. She saw some DCL video where a little girl walks through the ears onto the boat in a Minnie dress - and we HAD to bring the Minnie dress for her to walk onto the boat in. The princess dress we bought onboard...she didn't have one.

I just picked up a Belle dress for DD to wear when she gets her picture taken with Belle in her gown. I don't even like yellow on us because it makes us all look so pale but it was such a great price...and that will be a cute picture of them. :) I really want to find a Cinderella gown for her to wear since that is her absolute favorite character. I don't think I will let her wear them to dinner though, too messy. Especially after she has attacked the Mickey bar...or it has attacked her. :teeth:

No little princess would be without her ball gown at the "big princess" photo/autograph sessions!

I have two boys and was completely jealous of the little girls in their "princess" outfits at dinner. princess:

A little girl sat near us on formal night in her Cinderella outfit - it was a great memory for me - I bet her parents will treasure the pictures.

If nothing else, let them wear them for the moms of boys!! We love it!

My son has the stunning velveteen Captain Hook coat - the perfect "prince" coat to compliment the princesses. Boys do not need to be left out of dress up.

Wow..thanks for that. It never occured to me to bring a princess dress, but now I think I will!

My daughter is too old now to wear her princess dresses, even though she's only 10! I'm just glad I have those photos of her dressed in her princess dresses with her favorite characters. Of course she hates it now when I coo all over them! Enjoy it while you can! It goes fast!

We were without luggage on formal night so we bought princess dresses for the girls on board. They were $55 each. They loved them and will get a lot of use out of them. If you are considering getting them, you can probably get them cheaper at a Disney Store or check on line.

BTW, DD3 got pizza on her Cinderella gown, I blotted it with dish soap and cool water and it came right off.

Hi Mickeyboat neighbor! I'm in Barre, Vermont! Transplanted from Quebec!

Zuzu03 - Howdy neighbor!

Are you getting snow? We got about 5 inches last night and it has been snowing lightly all day. YUCK!

I just got back last week from the Magic and I was hoping winter would be all over. I guess I can pretend the snow is just white sand.

Hi Denae,

How awful to come back to snow! I know, I hate it too. We didn't get too much up here, only a couple of inches, I thought we were supposed to get more, but I'm not complaining! It's snowing now but not too hard.

How was your cruise? Was it a 7 day? My daughter and I are going next March for a 4 day and then staying at WDW meeting up with my sisters and my Mom, coming in from all over the place, should be fun! Did you have good weather? I'm so excited because this will be our first cruise and my husband is staying home to take care of the animals, bless him!

Stay warm down there! I know a girl that graduated in 2002 from UVM with me from Hartford, her name is Kat Rogers, do you know her?

Kind regards,

Nancy -

I guess we have hijacked this thread - sorry all!

We had a great time on our cruise. Our kids were a little young and didn't behave all the time as little princesses should. We also had some travel difficulties. BUT it was a trip of a lifetime. Make sure you go down the night before, especially with the weather being so unpredictable this time of year. You will hve a blast.

I'm sorry I don't know Kat Rogers. I'll ask DH - as he has lived here his whole life. I graduated from college in 1992 (ouch!) so we probably don't travel in the same circles.

If DH can't come with you this time, maybe you will just have to book another cruise!

Don't forget....one night on the 7 day they have a Princess and Pirate Party onboard....we peeked in on it and it was adorable...Studio Sea was filled with all the pretty and handsome little Princess's & Pirates (Princes as well!!)

And there are surprise visitors to the party as well.

3 cruises and this is the 1st time I have heard of Princess and Pirate Party! Tell me more!

DD has always dressed in her princess gowns for formal and even semi-formal dinner. She dressed for the Princess Autograph session, too. Where else can a girl be the "princess" she knows she is in her heart without being out of place. I love that about the DCL. She will be 7 on our next cruise and I am thinking it may be her last fantasy dress-up dinner. I'm tearing up just thinking about her growing up so fast:( .

It was a dance party in Studio Sea and I think it was at around 7:30 or so.

A lot of the girls were dressed in princess costumes and there were some boys dressed as pirates with swords. I saw one little girl in a tinkerbell dress with a pirate hat!

They played dance party music and there was a CM with a microphone leading the dancing. Then she had all the kids get in a circle and introduced the special guest.

I don't want to spoil anyone's surprise so if you don't want to know who it was, stop reading.

Cinderella came into the middle of the circle and danced with the kids. She was beautiful. DH wanted to see her in a bikini. She stayed for 5-10 minutes, we danced a bit longer and then were visited by

Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. They stayed for a few minutes too. Mr. Smee was able to actually dance with the kids (he spun me around the floor too) but the Captiain was too tall and with the hook and all...he couln't hold the kids' hands (although DD was begging him to).

It was a lot of fun. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it. Maybe you missed it before because of your dinner seating. Look for it next time.
