princess: Hello Future and past Disney Brides...

I would love to see some of your dresses. Being that most of us if not all need/needed to Travel to Orlando I was wondering what your dress style was.

I am going to the RUNNING OF THE BRIDES in NYC on Feb. 27th hoping to find a dress and I have no idea what to do.

I want the "PRINCESS" look, it's only right for getting married in the most magical place on earth, but I also want something that I could move in.

Since a Disney wedding involves a bit of moving around in locations I want something magical but comfortable.

ANY IDEAS....

well i might have to take this down because DF looks on here, but here is what i would love to have- its very expensive - £1,500, so im not sure if i will have it yet, but i am going to try it on this Saturday!

I wont post a pic, because of DF- so i will put a link on- he wont look at it then! hehe

I want to go for a cinderella / princess dress- because ive never felt that nice wearing any kind of dresses before as i was a bit of a tom boy when i was younger and im very self concious, so i think this dress will give me the opportuinity to feel like a princess! shame about the price though, so here is another one i am going to try on on Sat- its a smaller price tag, still expensive though- £730.

this ones called Sincerity 3159.

Wow these dresses are beautiful ladies...
they both are so elegant.

Thanks for the pictures

This is my DD's dress. It will be in white and won't have a big slip underneath, so it won't be so puffy. There is crystal beading down the sides (where the model's hand is) and back and there are little rhinestones and crystals on the bodice and bottom of the skirt. It's from www.demetriosbride.com.

How thin is that model! Lovely dress though.

This is my dress. It took me a little while to find it. I wasn't looking for the "princess" type, but once I put it on I knew this is it! :goodvibes

I suggest you try on lots of different styles because you may find you look best/love most one that you hadn't previously considered. Of course, I tried on more than 60 dresses, so maybe I'm biased....:rotfl: But I can say that I absolutely did not want a strapless dress or a princess dress, yet this is what I ended up looking best in:

:rotfl2:

Also the corset (surprisingly) made it really comfortable because I didn't have to have any kind of foundation garments underneath.

This is my dress - Capri Royale by Maggie Sottero. I saw it on the internet when looking at dresses, knew I wanted it, went to my bridal store and didn't try any other on! Saw it, tried it, bought it :thumbsup2

I have long considered starting a blog that posts nothing but poorly Photoshopped pictures of wedding gown models. If you start to really look at them in the wedding mags, you'll find some hilariously fake-looking Photoshop.

You TOTALLY should! I would subscribe!:thumbsup2

WOW... I am so glad I asked. All of the dresses so far are just beautiful.
I was nervous I was looking at dresses that were a bit too fancy but I see I am not.

I am going to the RUNNING OF THE BRIDES in NYC on 2/27. If you have never heard of this, it's an awesome event. Filene's Basement began this tradition in Boston. Filene's Basement teams up with many different designers and gets about 3000 dresses in all sizes for 1 day of total bridal maddess.

I am going with my mom, sister and about 4 friends and I hope to get my dress. From what I have heard from past brides the dresses range from $3000-$10000 but that day you could get it for as little as $249-$699.

It will be crazy but I am looking forward to it.

I can't wait to see if I find something.

Thanks ladies, I love the dresses and now I know I am on the right track.

Here's my dress, I'm not the princess type but I knew I wanted it to be classy and not be something I'd regret looking at 20 years later in pictures:

Here it is from the front. I'll be wearing it in white.

I've been to the one in Boston - trust me it's an experience. :rotfl: (The things bridesmaids have to do). Have all your people run in and just start grabbing them in your size. When you've tried it on and don't like it - don't put it back! Keep it to bargain with someone else for a dress they may have tried on and didn't like. Remember it's easier to go down than up, so don't be afraid to try on some bigger dresses. Have fun! :thumbsup2
