We are going to disneyland next week surpise for the kids. I do know alot of little girls do wear thier princess dresses there. Will she be comfortable throughout the day? She is 5 I think she would love it. Thanks for any info you have.

I would start the day in the princess dress but bring comfy clothes and shoes to change into if she wants to later.

My DD was 6 and wore her Snow White dress on the day she went to BBB. She changed to regular clothes when we went back to the hotel later in the afternoon. But she loved wearing it, people made sweet comments, and it was especially fun at the Princess Fantasy Faire. There are other girls wearing them, but not everwhere. It was great and we would do it again.princess:

I would not dress a child in polyester (because I swear, those princess dresses have never even met a natural fiber) for the entire day. Definitely bring a change of clothes so that when it warms up she can change.

My daughter wore her Belle dress on the day she had her BBB makeover....the other 4 days she work her summer play clothes...along with her princess tiara...LOL

We went in July so it was pretty warm. I would have taken her back to our room at the DLH and let her change if she wanted to....but she begged to keep it on all day long. :-)

My DD wore her princess dresses all day, every day when she was little! They were not big or bulky or itchy. They were the lighter, cheaper dresses and I had made sure there was nothing itchy in or on them. She absolutely loved it!
I did make her wear sensible shoes -- no princess shoes. she did fine wearing the dresses, so I guess it depends on how much your kid likes to dress up. I think she'd get a kick out of wearing one at least part of the day.

My daughter wore her Cinderella dress all day long--but with a white tee under it to help with the itchiness. :) We paired it with comfy shoes (blue lowtop Converse) and she received lots of positive comments about her footwear from DL cast members saying she was "their kind of princess." :)

My DD4 wore her Rapunzel dress one full day during our May trip. DD6 started out in her Snow White dress and changed into her padawan outfit for Jedi Training Academy. I asked if she wanted to change back into her dress, but she didn't; she said the Jedi outfit was much more comfy.

I also put them in regular shoes (tennies or boots), not in the princess or church-type shoes.

DS4 wore captain hook outfit around the parks and had a blast.

Thank you for mentioning this! I have a C Hook and a Peter Pan in my house, not to mention when they want to be pirates or the 3yo wants to be a pirate fairy and go to Pixie Hollow.

My DD in the past has loved dressing up *it's coming to an end :guilty: but hopefully she'll dress up a bit for our upcoming visit. *This* is on it's way!

I think she's a fantastic Etsy-er ~ DD also has these sets created by her - **~** ~~*~~ **~** and ~~*~~ - super comfy and cute.

Just ask her if she wants to.

My daughter loved wearing the dresses when we went when she was 2,4 and 7. She always wore a tank top and shorts underneath the dress; that way she could take it off if she got too hot or uncomfortable.

The last time we went she was 9 and she didn't want to wear any of the dresses we had at home but she did end up choosing a Princess Tiana dress as her souvenir and wore it the last day we were there.

When we did this my daughter wore her dress over a light t shirt and shorts. She wore it the morning and when we met the princesses, but took it off later in the day. I just stuffed it in my backpack. Granted we always remove the underlayers to all those dresses because she hates how scratchy they are. Worked perfectly.

Thanks for all the reply! I went today and got her Sleeping Beauty Dress. I am going to bring her a change outfit to just incase.

Just as an FYI, the big poufy princess dresses *can* be carefully compressed to fit into a big Ziplock bag--and my daughter is seven...so she's not wearing an itty bitty princess dress. :) It is handy for packing in a suitcase and for bringing in a backpack.

I usually get my girls Disney T-shirts with "their" princess on it. I also make all 5 girls where the same Disney T-shirt or at least the same color. I save the dresses for meeting the princess or the character meals. Just because girls can be a bit "high maintenance" and I don't want to change them over and over. With my girls we would spend more time changing one and then the other, then playing in the park! LOL!!:rotfl2:
But that said I've seen girls walking around in the park in their dresses and they seem fine. :goodvibes: I really like the idea of Converse under the dress from the PP!! We have fairy customs that were made for two of the little girls. When we go this Halloween we are going to make them for all of the girls. AND now I am totally going to put the converse on them. I was really unsure of what to put on their feet. Say hi to the mouse for me! :)

My dd wore her cinderalla gown on her BBB day, for the whole day with those sparkly princess sneakers they use to sell at the parks. She also wore the dress the next day. She wears it with tights and a long sleever white shirt underneath because we go in winter.
she got some special attention while watching the parade, which was nice.
