OK - A very basic question: I have looked at the web-sites, the brochures, etc. but still not sure about dressing for dinner. Going on a 7 night Western on the Magic in August with a 16 yo boy and a 12 yo boy. I understand the dress codes on Disney may not be as strict as on other cruise lines, but how are the kids expected to dress? From what I've already read, the suggested dress for kids is not as strict as for adults, but what about my 16 yo? He's not a boy, not yet a man (sorry to steal your lines Britney). Any thoughts?

Thanks:bounce:

I didn't notice any teenage boys on our cruise in our dining room. They were probably in a different dining room since we had a 6 yo and 9 yo with us as well as my 14 yo. Most of the teenage girls were in formal attire on formal night and semi-formal or formal on semi-formal night, including my dd.

If you don't have a jacket for your 16 yo, I'm sure a long-sleeve dress shirt with a tie would do nicely.

Just my observations from our trip.

My 16 and 13 yr old boys will be in tuxes for formal nite, suits for semi-formal and khakis w/nice shirts/polos for the other dinners, Oh and of course a tropical shirt and khakis for trop nite. This is because we enjoy dressing up for these nights! You can definitely just have them wear a shirt and tie for formal and semi formal and they wont be out of place. Enjoy your cruise. Waiting for this cruise to get here is almost unbearable.

If you want your son in a tux, they apparently will rent them for you.

We are leaving in less than 2 weeks.. For dinner, I have my boys wearing a navy blazer, good pants, tie and oxford shirts for the dressier nights.. rest of the time they have zip off pants and polo shirts..

Mickman,

Sorry, I didn't mean to take up valuable cyber-space by neglecting to research, and then post, a question that may have already been asked.

Don't worry about it skyhawk, mickman obviously got up on the wrong side of the computer this morning.
