Dress code question for the restaurants that require it

For the last two days of next year's trip, DH and I will be alone on a seperate reservation (the week leading up to that will be with my parents and grandmother.) So we're thinking of doing the Deluxe DDP for those two days so we can actually try some of the restaurants that require 2 TS credits.

Can I wear a sleeveless dress? I know it says no tank-tops, but what about a dress that has straps? Probably a stupid question, but don't want to risk not getting in.

Yes, that should be no problem.

I believe the prohibition against tank tops, osetensibly, is intended to ensure that (ahem) hair/fur is covered. :) Generally, that's a single-gender issue. ;)

Do keep in mind that there is no dress code at Brown Derby and Cinderella's Royal Table.

:scared: I hope the fur issue is confined to males only!

You should have no problems with a sleeveless dress. Dec 06 my family did dinner at the Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge. My daughter (8) wore a sleeveless dress and we had no problem.

You will be fine as far as dress code, the restaurants are very cold though, you might want to consider a light jacket or sweater.

Thanks all!

What about DH wearing his cargo shorts with a nice shirt. He really likes his cargo shorts.

He'll be fine too although in cooler months most men will be in slacks.

Of course, this is probably projection on my part as we finally had a hard frost last night! In FL shorts will probably be fine for another month at least!

Have fun.

Hee hee - let's just say I like to think and plan WAY in advance. Our trip will be in July! So it'll be ALL shorts all the time for DH! (ANd shorts or sun dresses for me!)

From one planner to another :goodvibes

Pretty much the only place you need to dressup is Victoria and Alberts, they have a dress code of somesuch.

Most of the signature restaurants also have a dress code: Artist Point, California Grill, Narcoosee, Citricos, Flying Fish, Jiko

Your dress would probably be fine. The only problem you might have might be getting the DDP for just two days. You have to buy the DDP for every night of your reservation and have at least a one day park ticket for everyone on that reservation. I guess you could book two reservations, one for the time you'll be there with your family, then another for just the last two nights, but then again you'd have to buy at least one day tickets for that second reservation too. Also can you get the DDP for just two nights? I thought there was like a three night mandatory stay required? Someone correct me, if I'm wrong?

Your hubby won't have any problems with cargo shorts and a nice shirt. He will fit right in. Have fun!!

I thought the only "must be dressy" restaurant was V&A. I thought the others were basically "common sense" like you need pants, a shirt and shoes;) (but no furries).:scared:

In my life I have learned there is a HUGE grey area when it comes to common sense attire :lmao: :lmao:
Last April we went on a cruise and there was a lady in front of us for formal night. She was wearing a bathing suit and a flimsy cover up... she pitched a FIT because the waiter would not let her into the dining room for formal night in a bathing suit :rotfl: she actual caused a scene and yelled that her bathing suit cost more than most of us spent on a dress:scared1:

If a waiter EVER told me I was not dressed correctly for an event and wouldn't let me in, I think I would die and slink away hoping and praying nobody I knew saw:rolleyes1

It would be hard to find a more relaxed version of a "business casual" dress code than the one at Disney...
Praline: I assume the lady didn't get in???

The only ones with a dress code are the signature restaurants I listed (plus V&As). No others require what you're suggesting. For example, you can wear shorts, if you wish, to dine at Le Cellier.

Okay, now you are confusing me...are you saying the other dining experiences are clothing optional:scared1: ?:rotfl:

We just ate at both Flying Fish and California Grill a week ago or so.

My husband didn't bring long pants, but had dressy shorts and a collared shirt. I had a skirt and nice shirt, my daughter (7) had a skort, and my son was in shorts and a collared shirt. We were fine, a little more casual than I was comfortable with, but not stand out casual.

However, there were all sorts of dress there - people less dressy than we were, but more people far more dressy.
