We are thining of heading to Emerils newer place Tchoup chop (spelling??). We have a 6 year old and an 8 year old. I was wondering what type of dress code is there? I really didn't plan on packing any real dressy clothes. Can anyone fill me in on the way people dress there?

You won't need any "dressy" clothes. They like men to wear shirts with collars (like a golf polo). I think I read somewhere that they don't want men wearing shorts, but I saw several men wearing shorts when we had dinner there. I just wore capris and a nice top.

The dress is resort casual, so I wouldn't head there straight from the parks. They do not allow tank tops for men. We went on a Friday night for dinner, and people were a bit dressed. Lots of sundresses and khakis. You'll be able to get away with a polo shirt and shorts.

We ate there in July with our kids 6 and 3. DH wore a nice pair of shorts with a polo shirt and was definately not out of place. There were people dressed nicer, and believe it or not, people dressed worse. Just look neat and you won't have a problem. I could see how Fridays and Saturdays might be slightly dressier, as you might get more locals on those nights. We were there on a Tuesday, and there were a lot of kids, and a lot of people who looked like they had just gotten off the boat from Universal.

We ate there last November on a Friday night. We went there directly from the parks, so we were dressed "theme park style" (shorts, sandals, etc...no tanktops though). We were a party of 5, 3 adults & 2 kids (2 & 7). We had no problems. Great table, service, etc....There were definitely some people that were more dressed up, but that didn't seem to matter. I think they understand that they have customers coming directly from the parks who may not have the opportunity to dress up.

We plan on heading to Tchoup Tchop upon arriving in Universal for lunch. We arrive in FLA at 9:20 am-- thought we would head over to RPH (staying there) and have lunch there (already have ressies)...Am I correct in assuming people dress more casual (no tanks) for lunch??

I wore shorts when we ate lunch there. They were pretty empty during lunch.
