I was really surprised that CM said no shorts or tanktops. I kinda understand the tanktop but isn't this and outside event? Not even dress shorts for men? The have changed dress code for signature dining that even includes shorts. :confused3 Maybe she was reading from old script. Whats it been in past years never attended before.

I was told that also about shorts, she suggested capris and I didnt even ask, apparently others must have been asking if those are okay?

I was going to wear a light dress (cotton type) or a skirt. I figure we are paying $287 for the two of us why wouldnt you dress up?

And who shows up in a bathing suit? I guess they wouldnt say it if it hadnt been a problem?

PFTS is inside. But the waiting area (outside the large gates between Canada and England) is outside. There is another waiting area that is inside, once they open the large outer area gates.

In past years:
They have been saying 'no shorts' for the past 2 years we have attended, at least (can't speak about other years before that). Each of these past 2 years, the dress code was not enforced. 'No shorts' has been part of the 'spiel' when booking the tickets, both in 2005 and 2006. I can't venture to guess whether it will be enforced this year or not.

And before I get flamed by others - I have no distinct opinion whether shorts should be allowed or not. I understand both sides of that debate. But whatever information the reservations agents put out about a 'dress code', needs to apply equally to all partygoers. If they have a dress code, enforce it, if not, then don't mention it.

We saw tons of people wearing dress shorts last year. Infact Dh was upset with me because I made him wear dress pants - he was not happy when he saw many others wearing dress shorts - lol

Would jeans be okay? Gauchos? I'm really at a loss as to what I'm going to wear because the fact that we have to walk from the bus to the venue means that it's going to be hot, and I'm not looking forward to sweating before eating all that food and drinking wine which makes me hot anyway, lol.

I noticed that this year the dress codes had changed for all the "events" - as well as the non-refundable policy AND the fact that they stated the events were for age 21 and over only.... SO hopefully that means that they will actually enforce the dress code?? Not that I have anything against dressy shorts and a clean shirt (I don't even care about collars!) - but last year at every event we went to - there were some people who were wearing cut-offs; sweaty, dirty, t-shirts and flip-flops...... I would think that the price for such events would indicate to people that they should maybe wear clean cothes???

The past two years that we went to the party, people were dressed in all manner of attire. Some people dressed up, some wore park attire. Most were somewhere in between. There were lots of dress shorts. No one was denied entry because they weren't dressed appropriately. Don't worry about it--wear whatever is comfortable to you.

Didn't realize this was indoor event. I had already planned on wearing capri's & nice top w/sandals. DH doesn't mind wearing dockers & nice shirt, but if it's kinda warm that day, just thought dress shorts for him might be more comfy. I'm packing dockers for Jiko's & Tchoup Chop so he can just wear one pair twice.

I read the title as Dress code for PETS! :lmao: Made me wonder what would look nice on my black lab for a dinner at Jiko. :rotfl: Hmmm...I think I have too much time on my hands today....

LOL, Lynn...are you having your own "Party For The Senses" at home right now? If so, I raise a glass to you. I am doing the same!

I agree with inaminute...you will see some people REALLY dressed up, and some in very casual attire. I try to go middle of the road with capris and a cute, light top. My DH usually wears cargo pants and a collared, untucked shirt. But he does have some nice shorts that he may wear this year. WE usually walk from BWV...this year we will be walking from the Dolphin. So yes, of course, comfort is a priority!
