Dress code for parks

Ok, what do you think a 300 pound woman should wear? And how much more covered should she be than a 100 pound woman?

And just so you don't think I'm being defensive...no, I do not weigh 300 pounds and I would not feel comfortable in a tube top.

As a 5' tall 175 pound size 18 I can agree that large women should NOT wear revealing clothing. It is just gross. Modest shots and t-shirts that are the RIGHT size (not 2 sizes too small. And for pete's sake put on a good support bra. We don't want to see your ample curves jiggling about!) That's what I usually wear when I am out at the parks or the zoo, or wherever during the 100 degree summers here. And it is not because I am modest. Just ask my DH about the skirt I was wearing when I met him! Of course I was a size 3 then. But there are plenty of great options that are very flattering and comfortable for larger women.

NO ONE wants to see rolls of belly fat hanging out. If large women want to wear skimpy clothes then they need to hit the treadmill and loose some weight.

Now I am really wondering though why the OP has not come back and posted an image or anything? I also agree with the person who said people here what they want to hear. We are reading the words the CM reportedly said, but we do not know the tone or inflection that they were said with.

Honey, if I tried to wear a tube top I can guarantee that 99% of the people that saw me would consider it obscene!! Size has a LOT to do with it!!!!

But, wouldn't it depend on how big the tube top is? No one specified the size of the breasts, but the size of the woman as a whole. I agree if the breasts were...extra large, then a tube top is not the best idea.

I guess they don't care about women wearing white tops with no bra going on Kali river rapids. I have never seen it ,but I'm sure it has happened especially during spring break.

i hate to say this but disney service is not what it used to be and i will not be back anytime soon after 5 trips in 3 yrs i am finished not renewin the ap and had enough of attitudes who supposed to work for the happiest place in earth cause disney is no longer that

I think a good portion of the decline in customer service at all places, not just Disney, is a direct result of the current consumer. The current consumer is apathetic, rude, jugemental and arrogant. They feel they have a sense of entitlement because they paid admission or are purchasing goods. The majority of the consumers out there tend to treat the people who work in customer service badly. Any wonder why they might not be so entusiastic all the time?

Now off that soapbox, where is the OP in all of this?

I think the OP's silence says a lot. The refusal to post a picture of the "offensive" top after numberous requests says it all to me. Crabby person who just wanted an excuse to be even crabbier.

Disney (or any other company for that matter) could not possibly post all the rules that are going to be enforced. And quite honestly how many people actually read the signs that are posted? That is why the CM's are there to enforce the rules. While is leaves A LOT open to interpretations, the turnstiles CM's are trained as to what is deemed inappropriate and if they feel that something falls into that category they can deny admisson, but if there is any doubt at all, they are to ask a manager, a coordinator or a security guard to verify that the clothing is in fact inappropriate.

As for people looking for it to be posted somewhere every park has written in the park maps: Courtesy: We work hard to offer a comfortable, safe and enjoyable experience for all of our guests. Please assist us by showing common courtesy to fellow Park Guests. Please be respectful to others. Do not use profanity or engage in unsafe, illegal or offensive behavior. Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times.

Now again this leaves a lot open to interpretation, but the CM's know what the Disney policies are and have the right to ask you to put on a shirt, get a different shirt, turn your shirt inside out, etc. Without seeing the shirt in question we don't know what kind of shirt it was he just said strapless, she could have thought that it was a bathing suit top (which is not allowed) or it could have been too revealing. The situation could have been handled in away as to not embarass the guest or make a scene, but... they do reserve the right to ask you to cover up.

This board and many others are full of instances where cms don't know or understand policies. Why should this be any different?

What I was trying to point out was that there was a section in the guide map that did say something about the attire, since the comment was made that it should be posted somewhere. Many CM's actually look the other way when it comes to "proper attire" because they don't want to get into the confrontation that will ensue when you tell someone that the outfit they carefully picked out that day is inappropriate.

I understand what you are saying about misinformation from CM's, but please remember that there are very knowledgable CM's as well, and to clump them all together in saying that "this should not be any different" is not fair to those that actually do know what they are talking about.

We went to Kings Island last year in Cincinnati and I was shocked with what people were walking around in. People were riding rides in their bathing suits (just after being in the water) which is not pleasant for us that are clothed.

I have to say that I appreciate Disney keeping the family atmosphere as much as they possibly can.

I don't even remember the OP's name anymore, but I think they just posted this early this morning, so there is a chance they haven't even been on again since that post. I know sometimes I am not on for a day or two, and the nsome days I am on several times a day. I'm not saying he is right or wrong, but we shouldn't be too judgemental just yet as to why he hasn't responded. Just because there are several pages of reply doesn't mean he's even read 1 yet.

I find kind of amusing that the pro-tube top people have mostly been guys I meant that as some gentle teasing, although I'm sure some people are revving up the flame-throwers. I agree with those who have started to sound the troll alert- the whole post in retrospect, does sound a little extreme. I mean, he says he's been to WDW numerous times and his wife's hoochie attire wasn't brought up before? Maybe it's the first time she's worn the hoochie top-in which case, live and learn. I'm just glad that CM's at least try to spare us the "eye pollution". Yes, it gets hot in Florida, but there are other things you can wear that don't expose the "twins". I'm not just targeting the overweight either. Some outfits are just classless, and make the wearer look like they're working for some extra souvenir money!

Kind of an offshoot of the topic - Not having seen the shirt, who knows? The CM was out of line in her handling either way. But, for all the people saying, "gee its hot, we have to wear very little", you see pictures/news shots etc of people who live in very hot climates wearing flowing white clothes that cover them, wonder if thats a better choice? Of course, maybe those are arid places. "it ain't the heat, its the humidity" anyway - just rambling.
