We have a PS for Napa Rose @ the Grand Californian for 6:00 pm in mid-October. Can anyone give me an idea of what is appropriate for DH and myself to wear? We don't mind dressing up if appropriate, but don't want to pack more clothes than necessary.

Thanks,

Last I have heard dress code for all restraunts on property is casual, if I am wrong, I would love to have someone correct me. Napa Rose from what I have heard isn't worht the price, I would try the one inside DCA instead, called The Vineyard Room, I ate at the Wine Country Tatoria the other day for the first time (which is the casual dining part downstairs) and it was excelent. Or go to Hook's Pointe (I ate there for the first time a week or so ago and it was well worth the price)

Thanks for the advice - we have been reconsidering our selection!! We had already planned to eat at Hook's Pointe one night - I certainly appreciate the recommendation to eat there. I am not sure about the Vineyard Room, though. The menu looks great, but from what I read it is only open Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights and that will be difficult to coordinate.

It doesn't seem to have an actual dress code but you may be more comfortable if you dress it up a bit. Slacks and a sports coat for your husband and something of that dressiness for you.

I believe it is a 5 star restaurant, and if you like that kind of atmosphere it is worth it.

That's what I was afraid of - didn't really want to pack a sports coat for DH. Thanks for the information!!

It is a 5 star restaurant. However, after spending a day in both parks and because we were not staying on property we went the way we were dressed at the park. Did not have a problem and nobody stared at us or anything like that. We really enjoyed having an upscale dinner with friends and our children. My son (almost 5) asked the other day to go there again :flower:

We ate at Napa Rose last year on my birthday. It is not to be missed! We wore docker type pants and I wore a blouse, DH a golf shirt. Most were dressed like us, we did see a few guests dressed up but everyone blended in fine. I would not wear shorts, flip flops or jeans. My favorite two Disney restaurants are Jazz Kitchen and Hooke's Pointe, but I would not trade my dinner at Napa for anything. The atmosphere and service there cannot be beat, they really make every guest feel special. BTW - the Prix Fixed menu went up from $65 to $75 and the 4 flights of wine from $35 to $45 (which is what I had). There are plenty of less expensive menu options. Just my opinion of course, but I think you should try it once!

Good luck with your decision :flower: :flower: :flower:

You don't have to. You may want to. Like I said there is no official dress code but you may want to dress it up a bit.

My DW and I ate there on our trip back in Aug. I wore dress shorts and a polo. DW wore pants and a blouse. No one batted an eye. I saw children and adults in t-shirts. While it is a 5-star, the management also knows that a lot of guests are coming in straight from the parks. I wouldn't worry too much.

I agree with the general consensus that most anyyhing is ok and this is not to be missed for a special dining occaision. My DW and I are celebrating anniversary in Oct and this will be the second time at Napa Rose. To increase our variety of yummy foods we've already decided to each get a salad & appetizer and then split a dessert. They serve standard American portions (ie larger than most 5 star places).
