Hi,
i have booked a few of resturant at Disney that have a dress code(flying fish, Jiko)
How does this apply to children? will my 11 y/o boy be able to wear smart shorts/Jeans? and polo top say?
any advice would be great
Thanks
Ruth

The dress code is not age-specific, though children can often get by with something less formal. I'd steer clear of denim, and of course, cut-offs and torn shorts/jeans aren't permitted. This polo shirt would be great:

Maybe a polo and some kacky shorts? That would look very nice. Wish I could get my DS12 to dress like that! lol

Here is the dress code from the Disneyworld website. While Bicker would avoid denim, it is indeed allowed.

Dress Attire is Business Casual

Men: Dress slacks, jeans, trousers, or dress shorts, short or long-sleeved shirt with a collar required. Jackets are optional.

Ladies: Jeans, skirts, or dress shorts with blouse or sweater, or a dress required.

Not permitted in dining room: tank tops, swimming suits or swim suit cover ups, t-shirts, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing of any kind.

I think you can wear jeans just about anywhere......as long as they are dressy jeans and a nice top...I have seen men wear sportcoats, polo shirt, and jeans, I love that look.

Polos would be the way to go.

Many girls and boys denims look good. Just wear with a nice top. I know my DDs have some gorgeous designer tops that look really good with jeans or denim skirts - so wouldnt worry about them wearing denim. Heck even adults can wear denim as long as it isnt ripped and My DH wears designer denim jeans with smart top or shirt.

Thanks for all the advice. DS has lots of smart top but mainly jeans and combat trousers- only smart ones are school trousers and can't see him agreeing to wear those! Best wishes, Ruth

Does he have any khaki shorts? Or nice walking shorts of any kind? Those are appropriate too and would be much cooler in August in FL. But nice jeans are fine....just hot!

Have a great trip! :wave2:

Nice polo and khaki will look great. DS5 wore exactly that. However, our last trip this May we saw people in shorts, t-shirts at both Jiko and FF. Both are great restaurants. Have a good time.

Park clothes would be fine for kids. As long as they are not naked or in swim clothes with uncovered bits, they are good. I would have a light jacket/sweater/hoodie if you are dining in the fall/winter since the restaurants can get a little cool with the air conditioning.

We went to Yactsman last August. Park clothes don't really do it for adults but would for kids. Most importantly, don't go in with a fanny pack!

What's wrong with a fanny pack? That's all I use at WDW, I don't bring another purse. I don't clip it around my waist when I go to eat, but I do carry it.

I want to know as well. Why no fanny packs? Because they are ugly? They are not fashion forward? They think you are smuggling all the mints out? Why? I don't see anything wrong with it.
