Dress Code for California Grill

We are having dinner at the California Grill on Saturday to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. I'm wearing a black dress and bejeweled leather flip flops. My DH is planning on wearing slacks and a dress shirt. Does he need to wear a tie?

Nope, he doesn't need to wear a tie.
Sadly, the 'suggested dress codes' are completely ignored and you'll be dressed nicer than 75% of the restaurant. There will be guests in similar and some men in suits, but very few.

Many people arrive directly from the Parks.

No suit or tie are necessary for gentlemen.

Unless your going to Victoria and Alberts wear what you want with the exceptions of the listed items such as: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While T-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that T-shirts with offensive language or graphics are not acceptable.

Even Victoria & Albert's does not require men to wear a tie.

I'm always of the opinion that when it doubt, it never hurts to be the most fabulous person in the room. How often do we get to really dress up these days, anyway? It's your anniversary after all!

I was at Cali Grill in 2010 and wore a knit dress with nice leather sandals and my ex-DH wore slacks and a nice button-down shirt (no tie), I would say that how we were dressed fit in with the majority of the other diners.

I agree with marielynn! I love to dress up a bit for what I consider a special occasion. Too bad more people don't. But I don't let it bother me. I just pretend I am a princess and the rest are my royal subjects. LOL
