Is there a dress code for California Grill? We weren't planning on packing "nice" clothes for this trip, but we are eating there one night--do i need to add a "good" outfit to the load?
Official dress code is no torn/ripped clothing, no bathing suits or bathing suit cover ups, no tank tops, and no offensive words/graphics on T-shirts. So for most people, what you'd wear normally in the parks is okay.
Honestly I feel more comfortable dressing up a little bit more for a nice restaurant, like capris and a nice-ish shirt (not a T-shirt) and sandals, and for my DH, khaki shorts and a polo shirt and sneakers.
We just got back on Monday and we did Jiko, Narcossee's and Yachtmans and it didn't matter what you wore. DH and I always dressed up a bit. DH always in khaki dress shorts with either a polo or button down. I wore either a dress or nice khaki capris with a nice sweater and heels. There was families in sweat pants and tee shirts and jeans and hoodies. The night we ate at yachtmans we actually felt over dressed. So it seems as though its whatever you feel comfortable going in.
Sweetmommy: The tank top thing applies only to men. Many womens clothes have tank-top like straps, etc and they are perfectly acceptable.
A sleeveless sundress would be just fine!
I wore a sleeveless sundress to Narcoossee's in September (and a sleeveless sweater with a skirt to Jiko) and I didn't feel like there was anything wrong with it and no one said anything.
I believe the type of thing that they're banning is what's usually refered to as a "wife beater." But I probably wouldn't wear an actual tank top and shorts, myself.
When we ate dinner there to celebrate my birthday on our last trip, my fiance wore a jacket and slacks, and I wore a simple, but nice dress. Honestly, we both felt a touch overdressed. Most of the patrons were wearing khakis or nice jeans.
