Hi,

We only have three full days at WDW and have PS at 1900 Park Fare dinner for us and our 6 & 8 yrs. granddaughters. How do kids normally dress? Will I need to have nice dresses for them? And what do adults normally wear????

Thanks so much!

Judy

P.S. If we want to dress the girls as 'princesses' where can I find dresses?

The dress code for almost all the restaurants at WDW is casual. Essentially, if you have shirts and shoes, you have service. The one definite exception is Victoria & Albert's. I think I also heard that they are trying to change California Grill to "Resort Casual".

That being said, Princess dresses are also appropriate anywhere. You can get them at the Disney Store or online at the DisneyStore.com before you leave or almost all the shops at WDW have them. Your best selection would probably on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom or at World of Disney in Downtown Disney. Personally, I love to see the little girls in Princess dresses. Every little girl should be a princess at some point in their life.

yes last year (Jan 2002) we went to 1900 our first night there. I was in Jeans and a nice t-shirt. I didn't fell under-dressed or over-dressed. There were some people with pants and collar shirts, some men wearing ties, and then the other end of the spectrum, people wearing shorts and tank tops.

Just wanted to add that Disneystore.com has a few styles of princess dresses on sale right now for $13.49! You'll find them under "dress-up for girls" under the "sale" items. You will pay ALOT more for the dresses at WDW.

Our family returned from a week at WDW a couple of weeks ago. We stayed at the GF and had dinner one night at 1900. We wore jeans and Disney sweatshirts to dinner and were not at all under-dressed. My best advise is to dress for comfort with a very loose waistband, and storm the buffett!!

Basically, the dress code at 1900 Park Faire is anything goes, as long as you wear shirt, shoes and pants/skirt/shorts of some sort.

Some little girls dress up in their costumes of different characters, like Alice in Wonderland, or a princess costume, but most are in the same clothes they wear to the parks. If they want to put on a dress, that is perfectly ok, too. Just not necessary.
