My MIL told me that she read that ladies can't wear two piece swimsuits at the water parks. anyone know if this is true? I can understand not wanting to if you are going on any of the big slides, but I never heard that it was a rule. If so I am going to have to inform my lil' sis. :rolleyes1

Not true....there were lots of two piece suits there. I think even some of the promotional materials on the parks show two piece suits.

Many people wear two-piece suits but I wouldn't recommend it if you go on the big slides! I bring a tankini just for the water parks!

This is definitly not the case. In 99 was a CP at Blizzard Beach and saw ALL kinds of swimwear. The store also sells all types of swimwear. Thongs and nudity is not allowed, but be prepared for the European speedos on men and the barley there bikinis worn by most European women. :rolleyes1

I would reccomend a one piece, especially if you are going to ride the slides. Summit Plummit is a wedgie machine and you would see quite a few tops ride up to an embarrasing level at the bottom!:rotfl2:

Thanks so much, I thought that was the case.

I don't think my sister has owned a one piece swimsuit since she was thirteen (skinny witch  ) so I don't think she'd want to start wearing one now.

We aren't really big slide people, but I do have experience with that and have no desire to "show the girls" to the whole park

please....last two times I was at a water park I felt like I was seeing a little too much on several of the ladies. Very skimpy two pieces. it looked like they had put on thier daughters two pieces! up the butt and barely covering the crack itself!! (sorry if too much info-I personally think there should be a few more rules on this!!) lol

Oh, I understand that, believe me with two little boys it is a concern I have as well. But after living through the eyeball scorching experience of old ladies in skimpy bikinis on a cruise, I think we will all survive.

I think if we are ever blessed with a DD my husband will cover her in a potato sack from head to toe. :rotfl:

Do they sell those at Kohl's? And do they come in women's sizes?

It is not prohibited but is suggested that you wear a one-piece if you plan to use the slides.

The rules on swim wear cover buckles and metal pieces which are not allowed.

There are rules but as the previous poster stated they prohibit buckles and metal pieces on suits.

Slightly off topic, one year at BB there was a Brazilian couple, the gentleman wore a tiny bananna hammock (which was gross but not overly obscene) and the lady wore a white crocheted (knitted in big loops) one piece thong, that was completely transparent, you could see everything. I was shocked that they allowed her to walk around like that. I saw her several times that day and I tried to alert the CMs, but evidently preventing full frontal at a family waterpark was not tops on their list of priorities.

BTW it takes a lot to bother me, I've seen folks wear some pretty disgusting things and never said a word. This was waaaayyy too much.

We appreciate all the two piece conversions to one piece at the bottom of Summit Plummet!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It helps block out the bad images you can see. Some of those things certain men wear is downright disgusting.

You can wear a 2 piece, but I would be careful if you are in Typhoon Lagoon when the waves are on, my friend had a slight mishap there when a large wave hit her and her top came off! All her husband could do was laugh!! I on the other hand was a good friend and swam to retrieve it for her!!

I would really like to go to one of the water parks, if I get the chance, but I have a few concerns..

I've never been to a water park before, when I've looked at a website for one [non-Disney] that I thought I'd like to visit, their rules seemed kind of strict about what you can and cannot wear.

I really don't like swimming much [I haven't been swimming since I was around 13, I'm 19 now] because I hate the thought of wearing a bathing suit. I've always worn one-pieces, but I guess I'm not comfortable with my body or being in a pool with friends/strangers because one-pieces even seem like they aren't enough.

Anyway, I was wondering, could I wear boardshorts and some kind of top if I wanted to? It seems like it would be more comfortable, just like regular clothing, instead of feeling all exposed in a one-piece.

I'm just concerned that since it's not what girls normally have been known to wear, I don't want to get in trouble for not wearing a regular bathing suit.

Thanks for any help! :upsidedow

You could wear board shorts and a top -- just no metal (no buckles, zippers, etc. on the slides -- because it could catch and hurt you or the slide). You will see all sorts of swimwear, including women in water shorts with a separate top.

You can wear clothing over your swimwear, but you must wear swimwear.

I'm sticking up for some of us European women - wouldn't catch me in a skimpy two piece, ever! :lmao: It's a full costume for me, especially at the Disney waterparks with those slides!

Have to admit, I did see some sights whilst I was there last April - some quite shocking infact! :scared1:

So The rules should be ....

1. NO BUCKLES
2. NO METAL
3. Must wear swimwear
4. Must not show butt crack, :scared1:
5. NO frontal nudity (I know some men are disagreeing):rolleyes1
6. NO BANANA HAMMOCKS THAT ARE HAIRY:banana:

any others?;)
