Dress code at the water parks???

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!

The dancing banannas are an esp nice touch!

My MIL told me that she read that ladies can't wear two piece swimsuits at the water parks. anyone know if this is true? I can understand not wanting to if you are going on any of the big slides, but I never heard that it was a rule. If so I am going to have to inform my lil' sis. :rolleyes1
Evidently, the author of what your MIL read has never been to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon during Brazilian Tour Group Season!;) :)

I've seen several elderly people fully clothed and lots of people wearing t-shirts over a one piece.

The only thing that worries me is the European custom of letting young girls go topless. I don't mean babies, little girls bottom only up to 8 yrs old. My DD's were shocked to see girls their own age without tops and the CM's will ask them to cover up. We listened to an interesting conversation between a CM and someone for whom English was a second language.

Yes, I did see many older girls topless, I thought it was strange, and I would never dress my child like that, but I did not find it offensive.

I'm sure that is what they are used to at home, I don't know what part of the world they are from. So I can't say it was European.

See, I'd be right there arguing on the side of those parents. A prepubescent girl topless is no different than a prepubescent boy topless. (Now, for myself, there are plenty of overweight and/or out of shape boys and men I've seen at BB that I would much prefer had worn tops. But if they can go without, I'd be hard-pressed to come up with any logical reason that a girl with less than that up-top should have to cover up.)

Board shorts are definitely OK (again, following the rules stated above about metal, etc.) I wore a 2-piece to BB in 2007 and had no problems - I didn't do (and knew I wouldn't) the speed slides. I wore a halter-style bikini top - I think these are among the most "secure" of bikini tops, I've never had a problem in one. And then I wore board short-type bottoms, mine actually had the attached swimsuit bottom inside, but you could wear a regular bottom with board shorts over. I was glad I made that choice, all that climing stairs and walking around, I felt more comfortable with a shorts bottom.

that's dedinately not true or realistic. i know lots of women who don't even own one-pieces. i can only wear separates so i can buy a different size for my top and bottom. besides don't they show women in bikinis in the free vacation planning dvd and all the pictures in the guidebooks?

I agree, allyphoe, my DD wasn't fazed, I guess after Costa Rican beaches with topless women (some pregnant) walking all over the place, seeing a 7 year old girl without a shirt is no biggie. lol

wishing upon a star: you would never get in trouble for exposing *less* skin! wear whatever makes you feel comfortable - i think now they make those surfing kind of suits for girls like they do for boys - the ones with a short sleeve shirt and boardshorts. i think they are meant for people with skin especially sensitive to sunburn. wear whatever makes you happy so that you can spend your energy having fun instead of worrying about how you look! it's disney!!!!

My family and I love Typhoon Lagoon! But the first time we went, I was sooooo worried about ebing seen in a swimsuit by that many people. Shall we say that I am a middle age grandmother and gravity has taken it's toll on this little old lady :rotfl2: My worries were needless! I saw things that took the skin off my eyeballs! My mother (who was 70 at the time) would have sent me to my room if I had come out in public like that but thank goodness she raised me better than that! Ladies (of any age) simply don't wear certain articles (no matter where they are) which allow certain other things to show no matter how attractive those things might appear to others!:lmao: But to each his own I guess.

Please ask the following questions. Here are the suggested answers to go with them.

1. Do the people you are traveling with, such as your family, know you? Yes.

2. Do you expect to meet anyone you know during this trip? Probably No!

3. Do you expect to meet a bunch of people who you will probably never meet again in your life? Probably yes!

4. Is there any reason at all that you should care what these people think about you? Absolutely No!!

And just remember that lots of young men (especially teens) tend to hang around near the bottom of some of the slides for views of the scenery

:thumbsup2 Great Post!I always say that at a place where ADULTS wear mouse and dog ears on their heads, there really isn't a whole lot to be self-conscious about!:)

This is definitly not the case. In 99 was a CP at Blizzard Beach and saw ALL kinds of swimwear. The store also sells all types of swimwear. Thongs and nudity is not allowed, but be prepared for the European speedos on men and the barley there bikinis worn by most European women. :rolleyes1

I would reccomend a one piece, especially if you are going to ride the slides. Summit Plummit is a wedgie machine and you would see quite a few tops ride up to an embarrasing level at the bottom!:rotfl2:

Thongs aren't allowed?:confused3 Are you kidding me? I must have seen over 100 thongs, I am NOT exaggerating, on our last trip to TL. Believe me, I posted a comment about it when we returned home, and I was told by several people that those were customary in other countries, therefore deal with them while at Disney.
