Hello, this is my first time at WDW in over ten years and as an adult I'm new to the signature dining and the dress code. I wanted to know how strict they enforce the dress code and if any ladies have suggestions for footwear. I am a high heeled fancy shoe kinda girl, but for the trip I plan on living in sneakers. We may go over to the MK after dinner and I'm stumped on what footwear I can get away with that will be comfortable enough to wear into a park. I planned on wearing a nice dress but I dont think I can walk around the resort or the park cobblestones in fancy heels. Are nice flip flops allowed? Ballet flats?

You shouldn't have a problem wearing any comfortable footwear. If you're only going to walk in shoes that are not as supportive as a good walking shoe, a few hours in ballet flats or nicer-than-beach-flip-flops shouldn't hurt your feet overly much.

I'm not a lady, but I think you *could* wear complete junk to Artists Point. I don't recommend that, but you don't need to sweat the appropriate dress at this restaurant.

The last time we ate at Artist Point, we had just finished a long, hot, sweaty day in the Parks. We were exhaused, hungry, and frantic to find food. We asked about Artist Point with the conceirge and were told that it was casual dining, but that we would have to "clean up a bit." We went back to the room, showered and changed. I wore slacks and a pull-over shirt.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, we noticed a small sign mentioning the dress code. But inside, a VERY different story. Nearly every other guest was dressed as we had been: flip flops, shorts, t-shirts, and loaded up with bags of stuff the bought in the Parks.

So, as I told the manager, they may have a dress code, but they don't the courage to enforce it.

1) They have pretty much abandoned any dress codes at Signature eateries.
2) They even let in Muscle Man t-shirts and ratty shorts.,

I had the opposite experience in two visits at Artist's Point. I don't care too much, but due to conversations like this, I pay attention.

MOST people were dressed in something like "resort casual" - MOST people had on their tennis shoes from the park. I think I've only seen two people in flip flops of any sort (even the fancier kind), but I probably missed a few since you really only notice shoes when people are coming and going. I have only seen one person look inappropriately ratty. There are a lot more polo shirts than concert t-shirts, a lot more capris than hot pants.

But they don't enforce much in terms of dress code - and "business casual" (long pants, shoes that aren't tennis shoes, skirts instead of capris or shorts) is the exception.

You can go in almost anything (clothing/footwear), as long as you aren't wearing swimwear.

We have went in shorts/t's and sneakers, and we have cleaned up a bit for signature restaurants.

How we make our decision on what we are wearing to dinner, depends on what we are doing that day and whether or not we want to take time to go back to room or not.

We ate at Artist Point 2 weeks ago. I wore a skirt and nice top, along with sandals (flats). My DH and DS wore polo shirts and shorts, my DD wore a dress. There were people dressed better and people dressed worse, but for the most part it seemed that people had cleaned up first.

I wore sneakers, shorts and a polo shirt, wife wore shorts and a decent top.

I think almost anything better than a T-shirt will do, and of course no swimwear.

/wear sandals not flipflops
/flipflops are for the pool
/my rule not Disney's
