Dremwvr's Planning Journal - Canceled.

ooohhhh...i like the disneyland wedding site...& that sign is jsut addorable...maybe I'll do my VR there(in the future)

Sorry to hear about your invitation crisis...have you thought of making them...some girls have done that & they turn out beautiful...all you need is time & patience .

Your shoes are awesome...i like shoes!!
& the ruby slippers are perfect for the FG

Are they using real snow/ice for your ceremony...thats just SO neat...you have like a fire & Ice theme with the red & snow...pretty cool

I like the card box

Cant wait to hear more & Im glad you got a better planner

GL & congrats

Yes I have thought about making them, however I lack the self confidence. I sent the picture of what i wanted to my MOH and she is so wonderful. She thought outside of the box and came up with a new way to create the same look, so in a few days I plan on trying it out and see if I can do them.

I can't wait to hear more! It's so awesome to hear about a Disneyland wedding!!

Thanks, its awesome to be planning one!

The ceremony site is beautiful!

Your dress is very pretty too!

Thank you thank you, yes the ceremony site is pretty, however there won't be many flowers in December so I am hoping it looks similar to what it is now and not a bunch of twigs in the ground. <fingers crossed>

I love your card box! Any chance you can give us instructions how to make it? Did you just buy 3 boxes and cut the ears down to fit the larger 'head'? I think I definately need to make one for our second wedding at home.

Chantelle,
That is almost precisly what I did. I went to Joanns and bought three hat boxs in the paper machete (sp?) aisle. Then took the lid of the larger box and used it as a temeplate to draw a curved line. Cut it out with a blade and Hot glued them on. The a little spray paint and its where you see it now. I am thinking of adding Cards to one and Postcards to the other on the front we also talked about adding a white bow and veil and a black bow to the other like bride groom, we just dont want to have people thinking this box is for the bride side ect.

I agree--the ceremony cite is very pretty. I bet that even though it'll be December, there'll be plenty of flowers--I'll bet California doesn't get quite as cold in December as other places might (Although that's a guess). I really like your cake--and I bet at the cake tasting that marble soaked in kahlua is going to be totally yummy! ;)

Well it has been a busy busy week of planning and getting things in order.

I have definitly been bit by the shopping and crafting bug. I have spent so much money on various items needed for the wedding.

So reading all of everyone elses PJ's I found the idea of instead of a guest book, having postcards and mailing them from Disneyland the day after, so when we get home, mixed with all the bills are good mail.

So I bought a few items for that. Fist of all here are a sampling of the post cards purchased on my recent trip to DL.

To display them (and catch guest attention) I bought a card tree and plan to put a few cards in the tree and leaving the rest out on the table so guest can pick and choose.

And the book I plan to put them in when we get back from the honeymoon

I also got in the mail today my cake serving set so I am going to post a picture - so when I look back I know what to not forget in those few days before the wedding.

During the reception I am having a kids table. So after lunch while the adults are conversing, they can have something to do. I bought crayons and coloring books as well as other activity books like those "magic paper" that is black until they color with special pens (not being a mom, I really don't know what is "in" these days)
But I crafted a crayon/pen holder and here is the finished product

I also purchased mickey bubble blowers. I waited and went to walmart like every other day and after a few weeks of them not having the blowers on the west coast, I ordered them online. I paid 2.99 for a pack of four. Not bad when your buying about 75 (blowers not packs)

I also bought cards while at Disneyland.
Since We will be returning from our Honeymoon right around christmas, I was planning on sending these cards I bought as a thank you christmas card all in one. I plan on writing a thank you not on the card as well as a christmas greeting. As well as adding a picture. I was unsure of adding a christmas picture of us or of those recieving it. I was planning on having a couple people take pictures of guest as they leave the ceremony and head over to the pre-reception, so I have pictures of my guests.

To continue about my invitation problem, I made a draft of the invitation I was thinking of sending. It is inspiration from Chantelle, but I dont think I want to use it. So for right now here is a picture. As soon as I decide or find something better this is what I got. I am working on this alot and the invitations are really stressing me out. I am definitly making my own since I have already purchased all the paper and stuff needed to make them I just dont know what I am doing yet.

Thats it for now. My FMIL is here for two weeks and my MOH is coming on sunday to give a major helping hand to get the wedding stuff under way.

Hopefully next update will include kids welcome bags, family welcome bags, and invitations.

OMG I LOVE your card box..... I might take that idea from you... I hope you dont mind;)

I dont mind, This is why we share...to steal ideas. I do love my card boxes. If you need help with them let me know I can give you pointers.

I totally love those mickey bubbles! They are so perfect! You don't have to do anything to them to Mickey-ize...they're ready to go!:thumbsup2

Definitely get some pics by the waterfall...those are always so pretty! :thumbsup2 we didn't get any b/c our wedding was at night...

I wanted to comment on what you said about a memorial. We put a little blurb in the back of our programs that went something like this:

On this day of happiness
We would like to remember those who are no longer with us
Particularly, (FILs name), Father of the Groom.

We also did a memorial video and had it as an extra on our DVD favors...

I can't wait to hear how your tasting goes! The food is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!

That cake pic that you're taking the mickey ears off of...I had that cake! :thumbsup2 My "water tower" cake...lol

If you have any DL questions, just ask!

Wow so what a busy week I have just had.

As I said before, I had my FMIL here as well as my MOH. We have accomplished so much and yet, there is only so much I can show since most of it is still a work in progress but its to a point where I need to just have some sit down and do the mindless repeatitive work.

Here is what is new, I placed an order through Zazzle, and my stamps came in I LOVE them! I highly reccomend Zazzle's work. At first I had issues since I sent in numerous drafts and they couldn't produce them since copyrights were a factor, but I am so happy with what I got.

On my invitations, I am putting this stamp Its kinda hard to read the stamp but it says Be there When... Dreams come true. And that is Disneyland's castle in the back.

The stamp for the RSVP

and last but not least the stamp for the post card. I just got so excited I totally forgot to take a picture of the cheet when they came and started placing them on the post cards as soon as I opened the package. So here is a picture of the post card with the stamp.

I worked on my welcome bags and added lots! This is what I have so far but who knows what I add since the wedding is so far away.

Here are the bags themselves.

Here is the contents of the bag (as of today)

The survival pack inside the bag, Excluding the advil I was going to include

The Snack Pack I was going to fill when it gets closer to the wedding so the food doesn't go bad so look for that in future updates.

I also worked on my invitations. WOO HOO finally I found soemthing I can say I love! I will post pictures as soon as I am done making them. They have TONS of parts to finish and I am planning on working on that this week, To give a glimpse, I did finish all of the RSVP envelopes

ALSO I hand painted on my card boxs Cards and Post cards. I plan on having my card box that says cards on the gift table and the one that says post cards obviously where they would fill out the post cards (instead of guest book. This is how it turned out...I did it in Disney font.

Last but certainly NOT least my future father in-law, informed us of the honeymoon plans he made for us. We are taking a four day cruise to Baja Mexico on Carnival. And since I am marrying his only child and when his dad got married (everytime) he never got a honeymoon he wanted to make it a trip to remember and payed for the penthouse suite with a huge balcony and a spa-bathtub in our room.
WOOT This is definitly a suprise I was NOT expecting!

Aww they honeymoon gift is soo sweet!

Everything you have done soo far is awesome. I love the postcard idea--I wish I would have thought of something like that--but oh well. The cards boxes are soo cute too.

Congrats, Maggie

I love your card boxes, how neat! The invites you created are pretty cool!

And wow, what a great surprise with that honeymoon!

More please!

This week I am really struggling.
Lately, I have had this feeling that no one really cares about my wedding. Certainly not my mom. She wants very little to do with the planning, only to show up at the wedding.

I feel like I have the most boring theme. I wonder how it would turn out if I just stopped everything from this point on...

Anyway, to show you what I have accomplished in my overall feeling of self doubt and my uncontrollable urge to cancel the wedding and just run off to vegas and get hitched.

I made a sign for the whole postcard idea so people are aware of what they are supost to do, since I will not have an attendant to stand there bothering people as they walk in. Here is the sign.

I also have a sample of my invitations.

They are not all done yet, I have alot of cutting and inking to do until I am finished.

I made several inserts to give loads of information since all my guests were full of questions after they got the save the dates.

Please don't mind the ink job I did on that..It was just a sample to see if I liked it better with ink or without you can see my finger prints all over it and I stcked them while the ink was still wet, on the ones going out I will make sure to place them to dry for a while before moving them.

I am planning on sending out my invitations August 1st to give all my guests plenty of time to make arrangements. As you can see by my RSVP card I am asking for the RSVP's back by Oct 1st that gives everyone two months to decide. And if you don't know or haven't planned anything by October 1st chances are not good they will be able to find a place to stay.

I understand how you feel. Chris and I felt that way several times. My Mom was the one that kept us going. Your invitations are amazing. You are very talented. Do not feel like you have a dumb theme. Love the post card idea too. Just find someone that is really excited with you and forget everyone else. If you ever need any help or would like to just chat feel free to pm me.

I absolutely love all your plans!! and your invitations!! wow - they are GORGEOUS!!! please don't be disheartened - it's your wedding and you must keep that foremost in your mind...as long as you and your DF are thrilled with the plans, that's what's most important. wishing you much much happiness

Michelle :cloud9:

Kimberly- I actually love the stained ink on the sides idea. I would have loved to do that, but I'm not very creative, I really would have messed up my invites. Yours look great! Very nice:thumbsup2

And like Laura and Michelle said- as long as your DF and you are happy and excited, that's all that matters.
Also, Laura mentioned something really important. My sister, not my mom, has been the big supporter of our wedding and has really kept us going- I really appreciate that, so find that one person, (can be your df too), who really will share your excitement! Beleive me, this will make a big difference.

BTW, we're excited for you too!;)

A boring theme? Your theme is DISNEY! And you're planning it to a tee. I know the weddings that I have been to lately don't even have a theme other than a color scheme. So I think A+ on the theme. Love the card boxes. How original. And although my mother is a huge Disney lover (one of the many reasons we chose WDW) her family is not. And I happen to go to college in the town where they all live. Meanwhile, my mother is back on the east coast. So I agree, just find that one person. It can even be your DH, although it may feel a little bit better from someone who will be attending the wedding and not in it :) Just a thought.

Thanks everyone, your kind words have truely touched my heart! I am so glad that what I am feeling is normal. I have tried to figure out why I have been feeling this way for a while now. I honestly thought maybe its cold feet, maybe my DF is not REALLY the one, maybe I bit off more than I can chew by choosing a Disney wedding. I appreciate your loving responses!

We have all felt the same way at some point. Just try to remember why you chose Disney. It wil be Magical, I promise.

I love all of your ideas...I am going through two of the same issues right now...no one else cares, and no theme...but trust me everything you are doing looks great...I loved the cardboxes...I think I'm gonna look for some for me tomorrow...ok question...my colors are navy, red, and silver...should I make the mickey box one of those or go with black?
Oh! You hand painted the Disney font? IMPRESSIVE! Love your invitations, I'm still looking for the right wording for our annoucement/At Home Reception Invitation.
Congratulations! Good Luck with the rest of your planning, and feel free to vent to us, we understand!
