*Dreamy Spring Double-Dip* March 13, 2012

I was wondering what the temp is like this time a year. Was it warm enough to get in the ocean? What was the temp like on board, sailing? Never been on a cruise but i'm guessing i'll love it enough to book again for another cruise while on board this one ha ha.

We just got off HAL Eurodam .... the water in Grand Turk, was less than warm, but certainly swimmable. We had warm water in Magen's Bay, St. Thomas. And we had wonderful swimming water (slightly less than warm, with hot sun beating down on you) in HMC, Bahamas. I'd expect CC to be similar to HMC.

Woo Hoo! So excited to be sailing the Dream! We just moved our summer 2011 cruise to this (March 13, 2012) one! This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise (Magic - 7 night, October 2007 & Magic - 12 night Northern Europe, July 2010).

Sailing will be DH, me, DS12 (almost 13 at time of sailing) and DD10.

It's back today! Not much of a choice in rooms though. It's probably sold out, but rooms probably become available as people move/cancel their cruise dates around.

WOOOO HOOOOOO!!! We're in! How do I find out what all of these abreviations mean on these posts?

Hi everyone!
Have we decided if everyone is in to do a Fish Extender Exchange?
I am in if we are.... I have been in one before but never organized it, has anyone decided if they would like to?
I do remember that we all posted our party information including, age, male, female etc... As the cruise got closer we did an excel spreadsheet with room numbers and grouping, this made it easy when you were handing them out.

I should be studying for nursing exams and I find myself on the disboards looking for more and more info on the Dream!

Cannot wait to cruise!

Have a great day!:thumbsup2
Kristin

Hi Kristin - Earlier in this posting I said I would take on the organizing the FE if no one else would but thought it was a bit too early to get this started right at the moment. I'm thinking I can start getting the list together by Nov 2011 but have the deadline to sign up be Jan 2012. I just got off the Wonder and that is about the time our organizer got it going. People start getting anty around Jan on how many people they have to prepare for. Does this sound good to everyone. I guess I've taken the task on unless soneone else wants it.

Also does anyone know what princess the Dream has. For instance the Wonder was all Ariel jsut wondering who the Dream is about. Thanks

Oh and welcome Dawnette!!!! We are so excited your going with us on this cruise.

Kathy

That is great Kathy!!
I must have missed your post! I think that it will work out perfectly to get a list together for November. That way if there are changes, such as cancellation it is not a huge deal.
You are wonderful for taking on this task. Thank you!
Kristin

but we will be on this cruise. Our first cruise ever and I'm so happy it will be with Disney!:goodvibes Cruising with me (for my 40th birthday, ouch) will be DH (38 when we go. Yea, yea, he's younger than me.), DD (will be 14), DD (will be 11) and DS will be almost 8.

I'm a planner so I started reading these boards as soon as we booked. I've learned so much and don't think I can wait another year. Although, turning 40 I can wait for.:scared1:

The water was a little cool but far from cold. Many kids and adults were in the ocean. The weather was beautiful (mid 70s). In addition, you may want to bring your own alarm clock. The stateroom clocks were very difficult to operate.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it will be warm enough for me :) Good idea on the alarm, I had heard about those pesky ones they have onboard.

Welcome aboard pirate: This is our first cruise to and this waiting is driving me batty:eek: I have 5 years until i'm 40 but i'll be there before I know it but 40 is the new 30 right :rotfl2: My DS will be 7 1/2 when we go. I've been reading everything on these boards since we booked in January. My DH is like if you keep looking at pics and stuff you won't have any surprises but I know pics don't do the real thing justice so i'll keep looking.

I just cancelled my reservation on this cruise. I decided to go on the Magic instead before it leaves Port Canaveral. We'll be on the Dream in a few weeks and my goal is to experience all 4 Disney ships while my children are small...I hope you all enjoy your spring break next year!! :goodvibes

Hey All!

Well you can add another Canadian Family to the mix! Seems like we Canucks have to gather on a cruise to meet each other. heheh. Anyways We are a family of 4, Myself, DH and 2 DDs (14 & 13 at sailing) and staying in adjoining Verandah rooms on the 7th floor. We have a late seating for dinner. We hail from Loretto, Ontario..and for you fellow Canucks we are located about 10 minutes south of Alliston.

This is our second cruise. We did the Western Caribbean on the Magic just this past December and can I say that I think we have switched from being just Disney World addicts to Disney Cruise and Disney World addicts. We are going to be doing a Land and Sea using our DVC membership in Animal Kingdom Resort before the cruise and then sailing. BTW March 13th is going to be my birthday, so you could say I got one heck of a birthday present for next year!

A few things from reading through the boards....first...is our original poster no longer on the cruise? Wondering if we should make a new thread to someone that is on the cruise so we could keep an updated list of passengers on the first page as well as any other important info. We did this for my last cruise as well when the original poster left.

Second...Cabanas....WORTH IT!! Love love loved ours! Just the private beach section alone makes it worth it. Of course I loved the little red button as well....heheh instant service. I'll post pics if people would like.

Third...Fish Extenders...gotta research it a bit more, but I just might be interested this time around.

Fourth...Cruise Meet/Meets... I would recommend more than 1 cruise meet if you are doing one on the first day (day of boarding) of the cruise. (actually I recommend we do it on the second day) My last cruise had a meet at 3pm on the day of boarding, but we didn't even get on the ship till 3:30. We did a transfer from the Animal Kingdom resort so we were stuck on their bus schedule.

I think that is it for now...Anyways looking forward to another awesome cruise!

Well the good news for us is my wife wants to take our new baby on the cruise. So I called to add the baby to our room but we can't because we are already at capacity for that stateroom. The people at DCL were nice enough to offer to move us to a cat 5 for the price we already booked but the connecting stateroom would have been a price increase so to add the baby would have boiled down to about 3k more than the price we had our 6A booked at.

No cat 4's were available.

I decided to move to the Wonder cruise on the same week. I got nervous about the pools being so crowded and our kids are pool fanatics. I think we'll enjoy the Wonder but I am disappointed we won't be sailing on the new ship. :( Maybe another time. I am excited though that I'll be able to get an In-n-out burger on the way to the port :)

UmmGooD - Sorry to see you aren't going to be on our cruise, but thrilled you are able to still take one. Congrats on the baby! I hope everything goes well for the DW!

Fish Extenders - Ok I've researched and I don't mind heading up a FE for this cruise. If you are interested in joining in the fun just give me a PM and I'll set things up. I think once we establish how many approx. will be in the list we can set up a dollar amount and discuss other specifics.

Cabanas - If you scroll down to the end of the gallery here http://gallery.me.com/brennamount/100120 you can see some of the cabana shots on Castaway Cay.

In my posting #89 I said I would organize the FE but thought 300+ days was to early to even start planning for this. We are still having people leave and join and I'm sure this will continue for the next 6 months. It was decided we would start the list in Nov and then the cut off would be Jan, this will give everyone plenty of time to plan and create. More details to come when the list is started in Nov. Thanks Kathy

PS and yet is it sad I know we have 300+ days till this amazing cruise. :scared1:

Kap@abq - Yeah I went back and reread all the posts and noticed that you had posted that. I'm sorry I gapped out on it. Well you can for sure count me in on the Exchange! heheh If you need any help with anything just let me know.
