I just heard the partnership between US and DW is done! Does this mean that Dreamworks related attractions will make their way out of the theme park?! I dont think so but I'm not completely sure. Either way...this is BIG news!

This is bad news for Universal either way. They shouldn't have let an asset like Dreamworks get away. Especially to Disney of all companies.

It shouldn't effect past Dreamwork films distributed by Universal. Shrek 4 or Kung Fu Panda 2 would be interesting though, because then there might just be characters for those movies in Universal and Disney, would could possibly create a rift in space time.

last time i looked, Shrek Goes Fourth (luv the name lol) a 3-D offering is still scheduled for release may '10

It won't make a bit of difference. Dreamworks left Universal about three years ago. After that, they spent three years at Paramount and that had no effect on the attractions. He was been renegotiating with Universal since October, and that is what currently has fallen through. It should make no difference to any of the attractions since it hasn't made a difference these past three years with Dreamworks at Paramount. The contracts for the attractions are separate from the film deals.

From Businessweek:
Sometimes you really can't go home again. Just ask Steven Spielberg, who last October announced that he was moving his DreamWorks movie studio, after three years at Viacom's (VIAB) Paramount, back to his longtime home, Universal (GE).

Right...and stick mouse ears on him and call it a day! Can you imagine Shrek plush toys with mouse ears?!! :rotfl:

I read that that was one of the main reasons that JK Rowling didn't give Disney the rights to Harry Potter. She couldn't take the idea of Harry and Ron and Hermione with mouse ears.

Uh, isn't there already a rat in HP? Scabbers--kinda already looks like a mouse:goodvibes

sorta looks like my icon:)

As long as we don't start getting Dreamwork film like Shrek moving into the Disney parks then i don't care.

Sorry but i'm not a fan of Dreamworks and the idea of Shrek in the Disney parks just give me the creeps

BTW, this deal is for Dreamworks live action films only. Animated films (including Shrek :p) are under the Dreamworks Animation brand, which still have a distribution deal with Paramount in place.
