Are considering the Dreams VIP meal, one of the reasons being that at 5ft 1, I usually end up only seeing bits of shows/parades due to everyone in front being taller than me :sad1:
Can I watch Fantillusions from the vip area or will it not have been roped off at that time?
I've done all the waiting for hours for a good view only to find as soon as it starts I get shoved or the tallest person in the park decides to stand in front of me(thats how it feels anyway:sad2:)
Also, anyone who has done the Dreams meal, was it worth it?

Hi, I did this when we were there not long ago. As far as I know you can't watch fantillusion from there but I'm not certain. What I liked about it was that there was plenty of room, I stood back and my 6 year old daughter was able to move around to find the best place for her to see it all, so you would be able to see it clearly from there. I loved the meal, I can't praise it enough but then there may be people who don't think it's worth the money, I suppose it depends if you like the food really :goodvibes

We did the Walts Dreams meal in June. Tbh the food wasn't really anything special (there were 2 adults and 2 children), and not something I would have normally ordered but we really wanted to get the VIP wristbands. Mainly because the girls are so small, we didn't want to have to wait around for a long while for a good view.

It worked perfectly for us - we turned up 10 mins before showtime (so were able to do some rides in the dark while it was quieter) and we had a fab view. For that reason I would recommend it. But as I said, the food wasn't great - just not my type of food and there are other things on the a la carte menu at Walts that I would rather have tried!

Quite a few people on here say you can just walk up to Dreams quite late on and get a decent view. IME with two young children we never found that. The first night we did wait around for about 35 mins and still had a rubbish view or people (adults) came and stood in front of my children so they then couldn't see. The last night we sat on the Discoveryland statue thing (as you enter the land) and we did have a reasonable view but couldn't see the Peter Pan side of the show very well.

We saw Dreams 3 nights and our best view was from the VIP area, especially as we didn't wait long. One thing we also liked was the fact that cheeky people kept trying to jump under the ropes () but the CMs were brilliant and get kept going along with their torches and asking to see everyone's wristbands, those that didn't have them were thrown out! :thumbsup2 So, I didn't feel like we had paid for nothing :)

If you have a look at my June TR you will see what we had to eat (I honestly can't recall - it was that good!). But we go again in November and if the Dream VIP meals are on, if we can fit one in, we might be tempted (I had originally thought about the California Grill meal but as Dreams will be on much earlier, I'm not sure the evening will be worth the huge amount of money then :confused3). I wouldn't mind trying the Steakhouse VIP menu.

We were thinking about doing this, but as Rosebug will hopefully have the EAC I am wondering if she gets an easy access spot for the parades/Dreams. I'm not sure, so will ask when we get to city hall, if not we may book this meal!

Thank you both for your replies :thumbsup2

I have read both of your trip reports and you've convinced me ;)

It was great to see a photo from inside the vip area-it looks like I should have no problem seeing Dreams if it's not too busy in there.

I quite like the look of the food as well,so I think it will be 40e well spent.

Thanks again :)

Rosebug,I see you are there just after me.
Hope you have a great trip :)
Getting excited now-are you? :goodvibes

Just a little bit...:lmao: My husband is asking every two minutes what we will be doing this time in "however many days!" :rotfl2:

Hope you have a wonderful trip too, when do you get back?

Haha,my DH never really got the magic so I leave him and our teenage DS's at home and go with my Disney-mad friend now :goodvibes

We leave on Tuesday evening-can't wait to see Dreams pixiedust:

Hope the weather is good.

When we went at Easter, we sat on one of the benches facing onto the castle and then when Dreams started, we stood on the bench and got a fantastic view. I am only 5 feet tall and I always seem to get someone tall push in front of me but this worked really well. We did have a bit of a wait though (over an hour) but it was worth it to get such a good view and as we had been in the park since 8am, we were glad of a rest by that time.

What restaurant do the VIP dinner please?

I am thinking of booking for October :) - Do all the restaurants use the same VIP area or are there different areas for different meals?

Yes where can I find out about the VIP?
When it is on? Menu's? What dates?

I'll also be travelling in October and while it will be low season...DBF wants to try the more expensive restaurants so it might me a way of doing a bit of both?

Thank you

Oooo Queenie - Looks like we both go on the same day!!

How are you travelling there and where about are you staying? :)

The Dreams menus are on offer until the 30th of September

There are no plans as yet to continue them on beyond that date :sad2:

Thank you :) That's what I thought. But it's so easy to miss news from DLP I thought I must have missed an announcement.

I'll be offsite

Ooooo me too! Magic Circus or Dream Castle for us - Were a bt undecided at the minute but gone for Magic Circus for now

We were there last wek (seems ages ago already :scared:) and watched Fantillusion from just past Bella Notte, beside the castle - good view of the floats though we couldn't see the stops. Then once it had passed we worked through Discoveryland and ended up in front of Plaza gardens slightly to the right as facing the castle - we couldn't see all the projections on the left but could see the castle effects and fireworks great, and despite it being peak season (and a Saturday night) we had room to move around a bit to get the best view from our area. Only probelm was a couple of midge bites as we were near some water after dark:headache:

Thanks for the tips on good viewing spots :thumbsup2
Will hopefully get to watch Dreams twice during the trip, once in the VIP area and again amongst the crowds so any help on best viewing areas are gratefully received.:)
I was hoping that the VIP area would already be roped off so I could watch Fantillusions and be in place for Dreams as well, but if that's not possible it doesn't matter.

Hi:goodvibes,

Just got back an hour ago.

We did the VIP dreams meal & had a great view of Fantillusion. We wanted to be first against the rope so sat down from about 9.30.

We actually thought the VIP area worked better for Fantillusion than for Dreams because no-one can stand in front of you for Fantillusion but when it had finished people can stand on the parade route in front of you to watch Dreams. We were a bit disappointed that our view was not as good as we had hoped.

Thank you so much for that info,it's just what I wanted to know.:thumbsup2
Shame that the view for Dreams wasn't so good. For me it's about not getting squashed,so I am happy to see what I can without someone practically standing on me!!
Hope you had a great time.:goodvibes

That's interesting Carpgirl - when we were there in June, the CMs kept moving people on who stood in front of the roped off area :lmao:. So in effect we had lots of room in the roped area and no one in front of us on the road bit - if that makes sense. The CM we had was brilliant though - one of the best I have seen - he was amazing at dealing with two families who thought they could just jump under the rope and join in the spot at 5 minutes to go :confused3:sad2:!

We actually stood at the back of the roped area - sat on the metal fence in front of the 'control area' booth - we had a great view as not only were we raised up due to being on the pavement, but that area slightly slopes up and being on the fence meant we were even slightly higher again! Even my DD2 could see and she was sitting in her pushchair. There were about 20 people max in there when we were there and the park was busy as it was UK half term.

Just goes to show though - you can give your experience of something, but it doesn't mean someone else will have the same!

OP - the sign by Discoveryland was a good place - again we sat on the edge of the flowerbed (not on the flowers!) and could see - outside the AP office is also meant to be a good place. However, you do have a slightly restricted view here.

Alternatively, queue up for a long time and get near the front - I think you don't want to be too near as it can distort the view though.

One thing I did notice in almost all instances during our last trip was that people are queuing earlier and earlier for places at things like Parades etc. On previous trips we've queued max 20 mins and always had a rope spot - not on our last trip, we would have had to have been there 50-60 mins before and we just didn't want to do that with two young children.

If you do decide on the VIP package I hope it works out like ours did - if you are able to stand there for Fantillusion (in June they roped the spot off very, very early as we passed it several times before hopping in 10 mins before Dreams) it should be a very good spot indeed :).
