Dreams Unlimited vs. booking directly through Disney??

This is a little off topic..........I am considering using DU for our WDW trip next summer. Do you have to pay for the package up front or pay it out like when booking through disney? I've never used a TA, and we have only been to WDW once.......10 years ago! Needless to say, I am feeling a little stressed.

My Dreams Unlimited quote was more than AAA and the Disney website. I was hoping they were less because they seem to get rave reviews from their customers so I would have used them. AAA is okay and they are one of the
premier disney sellers but they don't seem like they go out of their way for you and the perks of using they aren't anything special. You get free parking whether you use them or are staying on Disney Grounds.

What is this code? Is this something anyone can use, I'm intrigued....

The ZJZ code is a package deal they are offering for travel from 7/29/07-9/29/07. That is the code to use if you call into CRO. There is a different code for booking online, however I couldnt find the place to enter the code online so calling works better anyway!

I keep going back and forth on whether or not we should go with DU. We have our room only booked for March '08 and I can't decide if we should hand it over to Carolyn. She assured me I could make my own ADR's because I am a complete control *freak* about that. I think if I knew for a fact that she could save me money I would do it. But they don't handle air...I would be on my own there. I think someone asked but I didn't see the answer...do you get all the same perks as if you schedule direct through Dis? Name tags for luggage, ME from and to airport, the same type key with room, dining and charging privliges, etc?

You can pay for your Dreams Unlimited holiday bit by bit, we did. We paid the deposit and then made payments as and when we wanted until we were paid up.

I just could never book through Disney again. I found most of the phone people quite rude and in a hurry. The people at DU are so helpful and patient (my TA Rhonda is a saint!) and they make all those recommendations and reservations for you at no extra cost that make your trip extra special. I would always recommend them over booking with Disney direct.

I don't know about the name tags and ME, but it's the same type of room key, dining and charging ablilities, etc. Hopethat helps a bit!

Yes, you do get all that! We used them for our trip last fall and LOVED them. They are actually booking through Disney for you (for example, all your cc charges will show up as Disney World and not Dreams Unlimited) and doing all the work for you! We will definitely use them next time, too. And yes, they constantly check for discounts so you don't have to worry about it. They are highly recommended!

When you make payments on the DU website...they take your credit card info and pay it directly to disney, your money does not go to dreamsunlimited. All of the documents you receive are from disney. Dreamsunlimited will make your ADR's and ME arrangements for you. All the documents you receive come from Disney itself. You get the luggage tags, yellow ME tags, vouchers for mini-golf, planet hollywood, etc. Unlike a traditional agent who gets commission from your package, dreamsunlimited gets its commission from disney. You tell them what you want....they take care of the rest....it's the best!

It sounds amazing... but if they are dealing w/ disney too how come they get it cheaper then some quotes that people get thru disney?

It's not that we get it cheaper, but that we often know about discounts that the general public hasn't heard about. When you call Disney yourself, the Disney agent will never offer a discount to you, but rather you have to know about the discount already and ask for it.

On the other hand, Dreams agents know about every discount that is being offered for your dates, and always try to get you the best possible deal!
