Dreams Unlimited - Good? Bad?

I can attest to this. It seems that certain hotels only get a few "code" rooms. Often I can get more expensive deluxes at code rates making them cheaper than the less expensive deluxes without codes. That's why we are staying at YC again instead of WL, YC is less money with AAA than WL, which had no AAA standard rooms available.

OT, safetymom, your DGD is adorable! I can see the personality from that look!

I second that! Safetymom, it's so fun to see the pictures of your DGD. Bless her!

How was your cruise??? Hope you had a fantastic voyage! :goodvibes

I used DU before and was very happy.

Thank you. :) My cruise was awesome and off course now we are addicted. We are planning another one.

We booked a December, 2007 Land/Sea package with Dreams. Thus far, I have been really happy. I got the same price as what was listed on the WDW website, but DU did give an additional stateboard credit, so essentially the trip was $100 cheaper. Also, it was very nice to put the ADR scheduling into my agent's hands. She got me everything I wanted at the times I wanted. As far as communicating via email, I actually prefer it. I have a "log" of all of our communications and I can always refer back to something if need be. DU also has an on-line system that shows the cost of yor trip, what payments have been made, and an itinerary with recommended parks, EMHs, and ADR confirmations. I also know that they are very plugged in as far as codes and discounts, so I know that my agent is looking out for me to see if she can get my trip any cheaper. We actually have a 2008 trip to WDW and a 2009 cruise planned, and you can bet I'll be using Barb at DU for those reservations as well. Using a TA (and using an online TA) is not for everyone, but I certainly appreciate the ease in which this vacation has been planned.

Tried to get a quote from them for a possible trip in Dec. 2007. I placed my request over a week agao ( almost 10 days) and other than an email confirming they rec'd my request.....I have heard NOTHING. Makes me a bit nervous about using DU for my vacation planning. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

You might want to check your spam folder. Your email from them may be in there.

I had them book the room for this year's vacation and Denise was great. I also had her book my ADRs too.

Sometimes there is also problems with the email address. People don't always look to see if they typed it correctly.

I haven't seen anyone else in this thread with my problem with DU... is that they don't work weekends and they don't answer their phone on weekends. My agent has gone on holiday for a week and did give another contact for use in "emergencies" what is that about? They don't cover for each other - only in emergencies? Plus, I work Monday to Friday regular hours which are their regular hours - I need to do my planning outside of those hours. I'm in a bit of a panic today as I have no documentation yet, my flight is not on my reservation which means I can't be booked for ME and the earliest I can expect a response is Monday night - either my phone or email. My final payment was due on a weekend, I went to the website paid it off then was notified during the process that they only process payments from Monday to Friday during regular hours. I called Disney and had them extend the deadline on my reservation so I wouldn't lose it. I had not been warned of this previously by anyone at DU and I think that was their responsibility to notify me knowing my deadline was on the weekend. I personally would not use DU anymore for these reasons. It's too bad, because I've always booked though Disney before but wanted to support one of the sponsors for DIS.

Dreams does process payments on the weekend. It is just the office is not open but they do have people processing any payments received. I am very sure you can contact the agent covering for your agent and she would be happy to arrange DME for you.

The agents are always available by email.

But nowhere on the site does it say that - it should be changed if this is their process. I have sent two emails to the agent but have not yet heard back. It's not that I think that someone should be at my beck and call but when I call to Disney anyone can help me. Not so with DU - you either deal with your own agent by email or nothing - if I had booked with Disney I would be sleeping soundly tonight because I would have this sorted already.

yeah, i to feel i lost control when i booked with du. i will not do it for the land portion of our trips again. i like being able to call and make my own ressies so i can change my plans in minutes and not wait for someone to do it for me in there time.
not that du has done a bad job. i just keep watching for codes and then what do i do if one comes out and my agent has not applied it to my ressie:scared: . i know i am not the only client she has so i can not expect that i will be first on her list, but i am certainly first on my list. if i miss something i am going to be sooooo pissed, but only at myself for booking with a ta. i know better. i am, admitedly a control freak and i willingly gave it away:scared1: ! my bad!

Maybe that's it with me - I am a bit of a control freak and want it done now. I am not in control in this situation and it is driving me crazy - I am even further down the list as now my TA is on holiday and her backup is only dealing my TA's emergencies and maybe my situation is not an emergency in her eyes. I know that by now with Disney my travel documents would be here, done, but not with DU.

Have used DU for land reservations, DCL and ABD. Have been very happy woth them every time. Kevin KLose make sit so easy, and he really is on top of all the details with my reservations.

I had been happy using DU for 3 trips. However, my last experience has been awful and email I sent concerning the situation has not even been acknowledged or replied to...and I sent it to both the agent and to the general reservations email. I make room only reservations, do my own ADRs and tickets, so I'm not high effort with low profit. Booked at Poly Concierge and Lagoon View during prime seasons during previous trips. I did not get the DU agent I used before though I included her name on the quote request. Ended up booking on my own and saved considerable $$ over DU quote.

I'm using DU for my January trip. They weren't able to apply the AP discount to my reservation, because there was no availability at my chosen resort (I've been checking myself every day since the codes were released, but no rooms at ANY Epcot resort for my dates - bummer!). But they did offer to change resorts for a substantial savings if I wanted to. I'm just one of those people that once they pick their resort, that's pretty much where I'm staying. They were very prompt about checking for the discount, and any emails I've sent I've received replies within a few minutes, even on weekends. I did get a AAA discount, so I'm not unhappy, and I could still change resorts if I wanted to, but I think I'll stay put. I've been happy with their service so far, and if I were doing another long trip and didn't have the time or energy to stay on top of the codes, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

and I sent it to both the agent and to the general reservations email.

Hi MulanMom,

I monitor the Reservations Account and have not received an email regarding this. I have checked my deleted folder and spam folders back to last week and there is nothing there.

You can reach me at Reservations@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com.

If your Dreams agent has provided you with a contact name, that back up agent is willing and able to do the same things that your regular agent can do for you.

Many clients like to deal with their same agent only as a relationship has been formed and dealing with another agent would be on an emergency basis only.

But again, if your agent is away, you can always reach someone at the Reservations email address and if you have a question or concern regarding your Disney Cruise, you can reach someone at :

DCL.Reservations@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com

I checked my email account and nothing's been returned as undeliverable from either yourself or from the agent I worked with. I will resend.

If you can determine my email from my disboards account (which you need to do to know who to look for), then why have I not received a PM from you or personal email to the same effect as above? why must I have to find this out on a public board unless you are attempting to discredit my opinion by making it seem I did not bring this to your attention off the boards. I gave my honest opinion to someone asking good or bad. I did not go into details about the particular agent or why I'm disappointed on the boards. I tried to take the high road and be diplomatic.

Since you have brought this up on a public board, then perhaps you ought to explain to me, on a public board, how your agent cannot know that WDW will apply a holiday rate to an entire stay, when for four of the nights I asked for, the rate was about $130 lower per night? Or provide AP options when rates were released during the time the agent was preparing the quote?

Just checked my email account. It was sent on Nov. 9th. Addressed to agent with cc to you. A bcc to my own email account made it through. No returned as undeliverable messages.
