Dreams Unlimited Gift Baskets

Does everyone that books through Dreams Unlimited receive a gift basket for a Disney Cruise out of Port Canaveral? We sail April 6 and some people have received one, but myself and the other three parties we are traveling with have not. I know about the baskets from here but they have no idea. I was hoping they would be so surprised and excited when it is delivered!
 
Disney no longer allows outside companies to deliver gift baskets in Port Canaveral (I don't know about in other ports). I have heard that if you contact Dreams Unlimited they will send you your gift basket in the mail but I don't know if that is still the case. I hope you had a great cruise!!

Correct - Disney Cruise Line no longer allows outside companies to deliver items to their cruise ships. Dreams Unlimited Travel is now automatically sending our gift bags to all of our clients sailing on a Disney Cruise Line ship out of Port Canaveral Florida who have a U.S. or Canadian home address. Those clients with a Canadian address will receive them for sailings on or after April 1, 2015.
 

Wow we just booked with DU- I think I have seen these baskets in TR's!
 
We received a gift basket from DU in the mail - roughly 3 weeks before out cruise date - without sending any request. It was nice and included 2 water bottles, 2 coffee/sippy tumblers, a multi-color highlighter, a pack of glow sticks and some magnetic clips - all in a reusable DU shopping bag. :-)

Why not for sailings out of Miami?
I believe the perk started when there were only cruises out of Port Canaveral. And that's where Dreams Unlimited is based (I think). So it was easy to have the baskets delivered to the ship(s) there, since they were supplied by Shirley's Perfect Gift (in Port Canaveral). Now that Shirley can't deliver to the ships, DU is mailing them for the cruises that still would have qualified, but only for US & Canadian cruisers.

DU is not based there, Dreams Unlimited have opened a customer service office in Cape Canaveral, FL – just 1 mile from the Disney Cruise Line terminal.

That's a total bummer that you can't get them on the ship any longer! Are the mailed gift baskets to end after a certain date?
 
We just booked our first cruise ever with DU. What a nice touch the GB will be! They have been wonderful helping get reservations settled. Very impressed!

I understand why it was only for PC cruises when they were delivering them to the ships but now that they are mailing them I don't see why they couldn't also mail one to paying clients that are sailing from Miami! To me it sounds like they don't appreciate all their clients equally that's all.

Apparently they looked at it as a perk for those cruises only. Many TAs offer perks based on what they want to pay for. And can vary from cruise to cruise (even similar cruises).

I understand why you would say "I don't see why they couldn't also mail one to paying clients that are sailing from Miami" - unfortunately it's not just a mattering of saying 'let's do it'. There are many logistics involved and right now we are focusing on having our gift bags mailed to clients who would have gotten them if they could have been delivered (i.e. those out of Port Canaveral).

We are working on a system to mail them to all our cruise clients regardless of departure port but it is taking some time to get to that point.

Dreams Unlimited Travel truly appreciates all of our clients.
 
What a bummer to learn that Disney won't allow this now. We weren't expecting this from DU on our first cruise and it was a very nice surprise once we got into our room. We'll miss it this cruise, but will still stop by the visitor center and say Hi.
 
John. We are first time cruisers. Cruise date is may 30. We got a late 1130 pat so we got time to spare. Would it be possible to request our gift not be shipped and rather pick it up at your office or Shirley?
