Has anyone had a dream granted at Disneyland? pixiedust: I've heard of many dreams granted in Disney World - in fact, on my November trip, my niece received two dreams! We didn't see any when we were in Disneyland this past summer...

We have gotten Dream Fastpasses. That was a lot of fun because it was a very busy day in Nov. My kids didn't want to wear them around their necks. I was like "do you know how many people want these???? Wear them with Pride!"

What is this exactly? I read a reference somewhere else that they got "dream ears" but what's the deal?
thanks

It's for the "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion at the Disney Parks. Special dream cast members randomly hand out "dreams" to guests visiting Disney. the prizes range from small to very large....wishing for a cruise myself!!! For example you could receive fastpasses, VIP seating to a show, special "dream" mickey ears, lanyards and pins, free food, cruises or Disney vacations, A stay in the castle or Mickey's suite and a ton of other things I'm sure. The theme is making guest and cast member dreams come true. There is some information on the promotion below.

Yes, what are dream fast passes and how do we get them?

Dream Fastpasses are blue lanyards that you wear around your neck. They have tabs on them for each of the rides accepting fastpasses. You break a tab off, give it to the CM and get to go through the fastpass line anytime you want instead of waiting for a designated fastpass return time. It also "magically" makes your ticket into a park hopper if you happened to be on a one day/one park ticket. It was really cool and everyone in the lines commented on them!

We just got these passing through the breezeway between the castle and Rancho del Zocalo restaurant.

The "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion didn't start until October, so that would explain why you didn't see any dreams granted last summer.:thumbsup2

Duh!! Good point!! :confused3 Hopefully I'll see some when I am in Disneyland next month. Even if I don't, getting to go is a pretty good dream!

My daughter and I got Dream Ears in December. A cast member aslo gave us "Honorary Citizen" buttons that she signed and dated..but I don't think that was part of the promotion.

I have been three times since it started and have yet to see a dream granted!! I see people with the passes, ears, etc but I have never "seen" them be given out. Actually I have yet to see a member of the dream squad AT ALL!! Too busy having fun to notice I guess, or a serious case of wrong places at the wrong times!

My whole family got the fast passes when we went in DL.My DD10 and I got lanyards coming off TOT.

Sorry about the short post but American Idol just came on-----Gotta go.

We were there in Dec during Christmas. The kids were made Honorary Citizens twice, No Strings Attached Fast Passes and priority viewing for Fantasmic. We all got the pins where you keep one and give the matching one to someone who is being or doing something nice. Our kids love Disney and usually have no problem leaving because they know that they will be back, but this time the kids had tears in their eyes when we had to leave. The Dream Squad could not have been nicer. We spent some time with two members squad and we tried to ride as many rides as we could until they had to go home for the day. It was so much fun because we got to by pass the lines on POTC and Indiana Jones.

If you get to World of Disney in DTD, pls tell Daniel the Pattersons say Hello.

My understanding on how to get them is by having a good time and not doing anything special. If you bug, beg or stalk them they won't grant them to you. Keep a look out for them (out of the corner of your eye that is!!) ;)

We got one granted when we went back in November! It took us a few minutes to figure out that's what was happening.

We had just hopped from DL to DCA for lunch. Right after we placed our order at the Taste Pilots Grill, a Cast Member approached us and asked us if we wanted to be her special guests for lunch. We said sure, so she showed us over to a table with a "Reserved" sign and a nice linen tablecloth (we had seen it coming in and thought that was strange for a counter service place).

She brought us our food on real plates and with real silverware, we got free refills on our drinks, and she bussed the table for us when we were done.

It was really neat!

Same here ... it makes me kind of sad ... especially when one member was lingering around our table for a good 2 hours (I spend a lot of time people watching, my bf and I have people watched for 5 hours straight one time lol) giving nothing out and then went on a break

Does anyone have a sense about if Dreams are granted most often to families with kids? That was our personal experience in Disney World, but I don't have any idea if my limited experience holds up in the big realm of probability!

I don't know. I saw a couple groups of just adults with the fastpasses in December go by me in line. But I would imagine that since most people there seem to have a kid or two with them, it would stand to reason that more people with kids get dreams granted. But it is also luck of the draw, being on the right ride at the right time, etc.

Sure didn't happen to me walking around with 3 kids for 4 days straight!
Maybe I should go alone next time and test out the theory!!! :lmao:

That'd be a shame if they only do it for people with kids.

I hope I run into some while i'm there.
