Dreams Do Come True in Port Orleans. ~~*The End! Final Thoughts. 2/25 Pg. 41*~~

I love the pictures with Tiana and Naveen!

I had a couple of cream cheese pretzels on our trip...yum! My sister tried it, too, and actually liked it (she's super picky), and on our last day in MK decided that she wanted to go to the Lunching Pad to get one. Good girl. :rotfl:

I'm sorry about the rude people! I can't believe you encountered more after the Riverboat. I am so hoping it did not ruin your MK day.

I have to go back and read!

Great MK update...

Great tongue pic on TTA!:rotfl2:

That pic of you and Tiana IS great.

You know LL...you have ruined me...I looked at every friggin light fixture at WDW.....

Woo hoo for another update!!!

Slow people drive me nuts, too! I think there is an expectation that people in the South move slower, but I cannot stand it! It makes me want to pull my hair out, too!

Fun pics on the TTA! I think we may have to try and take more goofy pictures on our next trip!

The cream cheese pretzel looks delicious, and the photo Jen took of you with it is adorable!

I can't wait to meet Tiana and Naveen! What a great interaction you had with them! Now I want to know what Naveen, Aladdin, and Eric do for guy time! :rotfl:

Ugh to the rude woman on the riverboat! Mannerless people make me so angry! :headache:
We had fun taking goofy pictures.

We really should have asked what they do for guy time. Maybe they go Magic Carpet drag racing? :rotfl2:

Tiana and Naveen sound like so much fun. I hope they're still around next time I make it back to the Magic Kingdom.

Great pictires from the Riverboat. How cool that you got to see the parade from it. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping that more rudness does not ruin your day, but bracing myself for the possibility. :(
I hope they are too, they were a great meet!

I secretly can't wait for all of you to hear about the ultimate rudeness story. :rolleyes1

Heading out of town for basketball....
I'll be watching for your update on my iphone...:magnify:
just because I can't help myself!:lmao:
My part of the update has been written and sent to Jen. She's been busy packing this weekend so we all have to be patient!

I've never stayed at Saratoga Springs and it looks like such a beautiful resort. My only thing with it is, if you're on the outskirts and closer to Downtown, although it's a pretty view, it's just not something I want to see on vacation. I love that more isolated feeling of some of the other resorts. That being said, I still think it's gorgeous and can't wait to see how you like it.

LL, I love that you kissed the cream cheese pretzel. You are too cute!

And I do have to say, and this is normally not a complaint of mine, that I noticed a LOT more rudeness on my trip with my mom in January. Is this because of the time of year, am I a cranky pregnant woman, I don't know. Men not giving up seats on busses to women (something commonly done by the men in my family so I guess I'm used to that), people walking right in front of me and cutting me off without saying excuse me...just lots of frustrating behavior, because I am such a polite person, you know?

I love the Hall of Presidents. I hadn't seen it in years, and I definitely got misty around certain parts.

Can't wait to see how the day progresses.:thumbsup2
It makes me feel better that you encountered a lot of rudeness in January so maybe I wasn't being overly sensitive! Not that I wanted you to encounter rudeness....but you know what I mean. :rotfl2:

Fantastic meet 'n greet with Tiana and you do look fab in that pp picture!

Great pix from the riverboat, too. There are just so many details you miss and then catch when you see them from a different perspective.

 Nya Nya Nya to the rude people!!

Kathy
Thanks! That's pretty much what I want to do to rude people! :rotfl:

Oh I almost bought that black and white MH purse on my last trip. I'm still flip flopping on whether I should get it. You kissed the cream cheese pretzel :lmao: . I can't wait to meet Princess Tiana and Naveen, it's always nice when the characters take a moment or two to talk.

Very nice riverboat pictures and a great view of the parade if only they'd turn around! :goodvibes

Rude people... :furious:
It's a really cute bag! I know, they would turn around and we'd take a picture and they'd be turned around AGAIN. It was frustrating.

Great update! I love the pics with Tiana and Naveen. We are so excited to meet them!
Thanks! They were so great to meet.

Good job converting your sister to a cream cheese pretzel lover! :rotfl:

I have to go back and read!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I TOLD YOU!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

That totally just made my day.

Okay, I finally got completely caught up! You girls look like you had such a great time! Leslie..I am sooooo happy you haven't had tootsie troubles yet and am hoping I won't see any in the rest of your TR! You both look absolutely incredible in the Epcot comparison pics. I think you need to make this trip a yearly thing and take the same pose every time! :goodvibes: It cracks me up that you have everyone scoping out the light fixtures! I may just have to get some from Give Kids the World and do a special section on my TR just for you ;)

Thank you for being happy about my encounters with rude people. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Just kidding, hon. I'm thinking maybe it was the time of year? I don't know, I haven't been in January in ages and I don't remember that before, but I could be wrong. Maybe before I was a lot more oblivious than now.

OK.. I've been off the dis for a few weeks b/c of having eye surgery and busyness.. but I had to log on to say- I Love the pic of you kissing the cream cheese pretzel!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl:
That being said.... I hope that's the half you ate! :lmao:
Ugh.. rude people are so annoying, I really wonder what is wrong with people half the time- it's like, you are in DISNEY WORLD- what is your agenda?? Why are you running from point a to b elbowing/ knocking people over?? OK, enough of my rant

The Cape May breakfast looks like it was alot of fun. I love the characters in their beachy gear!

I might have to go and check out SSR one of these days. The grounds look beautiful!

It's so true, I thought of you when I posted the sax chandelier pic from the HR :rotfl:
Hehehe. It's spreading!

I was hooked.....:rotfl2: seriously.
:lmao:

Aww, thanks for getting caught up. I know everything has been hectic for you lately. Your trip is so close!!

It's very curious all right.

Yes, that is the half that I ate! :rotfl2: I have the same rant, I really had to channel my inner calmness to get through the rudeness.

The grounds really are beautiful.

We left off with us heading towards The Plaza for our dinner ADR. Jen had really been wanting to try The Plaza, me…I could have taken it or not. It did not disappoint though and I’m glad we tried it out.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2250.jpg

We were sat pretty quickly at the table right next to the swinging kitchen door. That was my least favorite part of the meal. I thought the door would smack right into our table, there were a few close calls.

Jen ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with steak fries.

Oh wow was this so good! I could really go for that sandwich again...so yummy!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2258.jpg

I ordered the chicken sandwich without the bun, with coleslaw and a side of ranch dressing.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2257.jpg

It was really good! I wasn’t feeling the Tuna and knew that if I ordered that I would make myself sick trying to eat the croissant it came on.

For dessert, Jen ordered the brownie sundae and I ordered a mint chocolate chip shake. Both were excellent!

Plaza was definitely a great restaurant and I would go again in a heartbeat!! So yummy and dessert was great!!

After our meal we decided to take some pictures of the Castle and hit up the photopass people. Those pictures turned out hideous but here are some pretty Castle pics for your enjoyment!

Isn’t this a great picture! Jen rocks!
Aww..thanks!

The order of things is a little fuzzy from here on out. I believe we headed back towards Fantasyland. Where we encountered more rude people just cutting in front of us while we were walking. Before riding Peter Pan we decided to hit up Mickey’s Philaharmagic.

There was an incident

A BIG INCIDENT.

While entering the turnstiles two people cut in front of us…I thought nothing of it because that was the game of the day apparently. I went into the lobby ahead of Jen wondering if I should dig out my camera to get a picture of the Ariel poster. I always try and it’s blurry. I decided against it but during this there was an incident.

Jen is going to explain it because I wasn’t paying attention.

This is hard for me to write about because I usually am very calm and mild mannered, but what happened here had me seeing red and I was beyond furious. As we were walking in as Leslie said part of a family (their group was about 5 people) cut in front of us. I didn't think anything about it until I heard the ladies behind us make a comment about being cutoff. At this point I was going to let them just go ahead of us when one of the ladies proceeded to comment, "That some people need to lay off the donuts at breakfast." Oh that was it, I usually can handle most nasty comments, I'm a high school teacher for crying out loud, but that NOPE, not happening. The lady didn't even attempt to cover her comment, so I didn't attempt to cover mine. I said just as loudly, "Some people need to learn about common curtesy. " At this point Leslie heard my comment and knew something wasn't right and asked me if I was okay. I looked straight at the lady (who by the look on her face had heard me) and told her and her friend they were more than welcome to go join their party. I was so mad I was shaking and I refused while in line to tell Leslie what had happened.

Now we DID NOT cut in front of them, two of their party cut in front of us. And even if we did, there is NO NEED for talk like that. I’m really grateful I wasn’t paying attention because I probably would have cried.

As we got our glasses and moved into the auditorium, Jen still wouldn’t tell me what happened. She did make sure that we were not seating near that group of people at all though. Once we sat down, I urged her to tell me. She did, and while I was upset about it….moreso that Jen was upset I told her it wasn’t a big deal. We watched the show which was fabulous as always and our moods improved. On the way out, I told Jen that she should have asked the lady if she talked in front of her children like that and Jen let out this laugh that was just great. It was good, we had moved on.

We decided to check out the gift shop where we both decided to add to our park music collection. I got a CD full of parade music and Jen got “I don’t remember”.

While we were sitting in line a nice young CM came from outside and said he could take us at the register outside so we followed him. I checked his tag and he was from the University of Maine in Orono. I was excited. I told him I was from Maine and asked him if he just went there or if he was from Maine too. He said he was from Maine and I asked him where and he said York. I got all excited. I told him I was from Kittery which is the town next to York. We had a great chat about Maine and any thoughts of those rude ladies were completely gone. He totally made my night. He was in the College Program and he told us how he loved that and how he was hoping to get a full time job at Disney when he was done. It was a great moment and one of my favorites from this trip.

This was great!!! I enjoyed watching you talk to him and talking to him myself!! CMs are just the best at Disney!!

After our lovely chat, we redeemed our fastpasses for Peter Pan. We had a lovely flight over London and Neverland and headed to ride Haunted Mansion twice in a row. It was a great ride like always! I love riding Haunted Mansion back to back like that. It’s even better when you don’t have a wait at all.

Continued in next post....

It was getting close to Spectromagic time so we decided to find a place to sit and claim a spot. We were over in Liberty Square right across from Liberty Tree Tavern sitting on a stone wall. It was COLD! I had a tshirt under my tie dye shirt that TK made us and I was freezing. Jen had brought a heavier jacket but I hadn’t brought my fleece because I thought I would be fine. I did go look in two stores while were waiting but I couldn’t find anything that could make me part with my money.

Soon enough the CM’s were setting up the ropes. Jen and I were debating if we should sit on the ground by the rope or keep our wall seats. We didn’t want a bunch of people in front of us for pictures. Finally…we decided to sit on the ground. I feared I’d never get up again!

Finally, it was time for Spectromagic. Let me tell you sitting on the ground and waiting around was well worth it! We had an amazing view and it was pure magic sitting that close!

I love SpectroMagic!! We did have great seats!!!!

We decided to head towards Fantasyland to get a ride in on Dumbo. The line had been a bit too long earlier but now it wasn’t so bad. In line we realized something….we were going to be on the ride during the fireworks! It was timed perfectly! The first fireworks were going off as we were loading. It was so magical. The best way to see Wishes is to be on Dumbo. I just wish the ride had been a bit longer.

I love that my first ride on Dumbo EVER was at night during Wishes...doesn't get much better than that!

After we decided to redeem our fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain.

Sigh.

Let me just say I am ride wimp. I thought I was going to die! We were in the second car and in the first car was a little girl…I’m thinking she couldn’t have been more than 9. She was quite perplexed by me I think. Everytime there was a lull in the coaster, she would look back and giggle at me screaming my head off. We also had some sort of school behind us who was doing this chant. Jen was participating with them, maybe she remembers what they were saying.

I have no clue, it was spanish or maybe portugese because it was one of those Brazilian groups...I just remember having a great time!

I thought I was going to die, going on that ride in the dark is SCARY! I was very happy when it finished and we could go on a much tamer ride like Pirates! In fact, I think we had gone on Pirates once earlier. Is that right Jen? I do know that we rode three times total and that after Big Thunder Mountain we rode twice in a row.

After Pirates, we decided to hit up Jungle Cruise. Jungle Cruise at night is so much better, we had a great CM who had a very thick accent but I think that made the jokes funnier. I hope that doesn’t sound insensitive but it’s the truth and you could tell the CM was having a great time. He told a Tiger Woods joke too which made me gasp! It was funny and totally unexpected.

Once again, a great skipper makes this ride! And we had a great one, not afraid to make fun of himself for a laugh and he was funny! I loved it!

After Jungle Cruise we were losing steam fast. Real fast.

We made our way outside to the monorail. The whole monorail car was completely silent. You could tell everyone was tired. Before long we made our way to our car and journeyed back over to Saratoga Springs. Our room was in the carriage house. All the way at the end of the building. We couldn’t have been closer to Downtown Disney. Our view? A lovely water view smack dab across from Fulton’s. It was so beautiful!

We didn’t take any pictures…we were tired.

Coming Up….

A delish lunch.

No way am I riding that even if it's fake.

That was so rude!! I can't believe that some people have NO manners!!!:scared1: Good for you Jen for speaking up! I am glad that you were both able to move on and not let it ruin your night. LL, I bought the parade music CD on my last trip. It is in my car right now. Great Spectro pictures!

Okay, I am like Jen in the way that I am usually very calm and mild mannered -- it takes a LOT to make me really upset or angry, but just reading that made me :furious: and I wasn't even there. I think I would have lost it hearing that. UGH. I am so glad it didn't ruin the rest of your MK night, though! I was really worried about that after I read your last update.

I've never really watched Spectro from Liberty Square, mostly in Frontierland, but I watched it by myself when my dad, Kailyn, and I were at MK and I was kind of near where you were. I love watching from up there! There is something so special to me about MK at night. I mean, I love it any time of day, but nighttime there is my very favorite.

The pictures of you guys on Dumbo are so cute! I love the one of the blurry Dumbos with the castle in the background, too; that turned out so cool!

I'm so sorry you guys had to deal with such mean spirited women (especially Jen). :sad2: I always like to tell myself that people like that are just so unhappy with themselves and their lives that they have to take it out on others.

How cool the CM had a tag from UMO! I went there!

Grrrrrr to the rude people! What's up with that anyway?

I adore your Dumbo pictures! You always take the best ones!!

We are trying The Plaza in the near future, not sure which trip but sometime soon!
:goodvibes
