Day 3 continued...more lodge time.
After our happy surprise from mousekeeping we made our way up to the lounge to grab a few drinks/snacks (yum oatmeal cookies). Then it was down to the pool for some very watery fun!
The pool itself is so well themed. It appears to be a swimming hole (they painted it a brownish green on the bottom instead of the normal turquoise blue). It really adds to the illusion. And the landscaping around the pool is so lush. Add both of those together and you can really imagine that you are walking into an oasis instead of a resort pool area!
Here is an assortment of pictures taken with our water proof camera. I loved not having to worry about getting our camera wet!
Note the color of the water (that Disney theming again).
Watch out for what lurks in the water!!
Here are the boys and I just bobbing along oh so happily! The pool was so uncrowded (which may have had something to do with the fact that the resort was only 1/2 full due to the construction) that it felt like our own "African swimming hole".
The slide is not extra tall or extra loopy or extra anything for that matter...but it was just right for having some watering hole fun!
I think the next two pictures show just how relaxing the pool actually was!!
After a few hours in the pool we climbed out (we had to promise the boys we would climb back in before we got them out!
) and headed for another bead activity. We met at the Flamingo Pond.
This time we were off on a Garden Safari. For this activity each boy got a laminated page with different flowers on it and a map of the pool area. They had to locate each of the plants and then indicate where they found them on the map. They were also to observe and note any living creatures (bugs, lizards, birds, rabbits, etc) that they saw living, eating or resting on our near the plants. We, once again, found a bead activity to be a whole lot of fun. We spent about 40 minutes searching for the plants and looking for creatures near/on them. During that time period we had trouble finding only one flowering plant.
Here is a shot of "Stitch" when he climbed up on the playground equipment to get a better look at all of the plants in the area.
When we made our way back to ask for a hint the guide showed us where the plant was. It was VERY tricky because it had lost it's flowers...so we had to go by the leaves. That final plant checked off the boys each received another bead. This time, the bead was shaped like a ladybug.
Our time in the sun while on the garden safari had dried us out. So before heading back to our room we stopped up at the lounge for tea time. OH YUM!! I found some decaffeinated tea that was really good. The scones were warm! And my boys were happy as clams snacking on rice krispy treats. Finally sated we headed back to our room where the first big surprise of the trip was waiting for them!!
We had found out just before we left the probable sex of their baby-to-be. So I ordered a cake (with the help of the wonderful concierge staff) to surprise them with the news.
"Aladdin" saw the cake and read it first...look at his face!!
Once all three of them had seen the cake there were hugs and kisses all around and three very smiley big brothers!
Here is what they saw:
That's right...another little prince to add to our family!! It has since been confirmed with yet another ultrasound so at this point we are more then fairly certain and over the moon excited at the thought of having another little son/brother to love. Many people ask if I had wished for a girl...but the secret behind my wish for another boy was this...I get to remain the princess/ queen of the family.
And from where I am sitting, that's a pretty great place to be!! Not that the little pink clothes I see don't look adorable!!
Or those princess costumes don't scream out "PICK ME". But, when it comes right down to it, this is the family He sent us and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world!!
Up next dinner at the Polynesian.
To be continued...

They're my DD14's favorite thing too!!
That's what we kept saying during the safari, that they were posing for us! Most of the time they struck the best poses...um....they were....um...."going".
