Dreaming of the Disney DREAM, Feb 17, 2013

With the holidays finally behind me I am ready to start preparing our clothes to pack. I set aside all shorts and t-shirts for my kids and then my husband warned me that they might need some warmer clothes, too. Can anyone tell me what temperatures to expect in Orlando and then on the cruise?

To be honest, temperatures vary. We have been in December and only once used a jacket.
We have been to Orlando in February and had the lowest temperatures they had in a long time.
I would just pack some sweaters, so you have something to cover up.

As for the ship - last year, even though we went swimming at CC we mostly wore hoodies in the evening. With the breeze on the ship it was really good to cover up.
Just my thoughts. ;)

Thanks for the welcome! This will be our 2nd Disney cruise (3rd overall). We did the same 4-night cruise on the Wonder back in Feb. 2010. Looking forward to sailing on the "Dream" this year!

Does anyone have any comparisons between the Dream/Wonder?

Ryan

1 Month 9 Days!!!
Has everyone sent Karin the Info we need for the FE exchange gifts?

We are so looking forward to this cruise...more than the last one. We haven't booked any excursions because we plan to REST and PARTY...and NOT look at watches or clocks...Only for our Anniversary Dinner at Remy :hyper:

We plan to sleep late, eat a relaxing breakfast:coffee:, sign up for all the "Tastings"...like Wine, Martini, Margarita :drinking:...everything they have scheduled...and enjoy the company of new friends! :yay:

Sounds like a great plan!!

Started working on the fish extender gifts this weekend.

Booked a massage and bought a rainforest room pass.

My daughter tells me that she plans to spend as much time on the aquaduck as she can :)

Even moved our Saturday flight up to the early morning so we could peek in at the new Fantasyland stuff before the cruise.

So looking forward to this trip.

We'll be cruisin' soon.

Massage sounds perfect...and you're going to love the Rainforest Spa...DH & I each had the Rainforest Day Pass last Feb & we loved it!

Zaria may not want to leave the teen club...she's a year younger than DS Alex...we lost him to the club for the most part. Give us a ring if you'd like to get together while Zaria is riding the Aquaduck or in the Club...

Magic Kingdom is the perfect way to start your vacation!

We have done that same cruise over and over again. Unfortunately we only have a certain time frame where we can travel and were therefore limited to this itinerary. But to us it is more to be on the ship than the ports. ;)

We have sailed on the Wonder (3 times) and the Dream (6 times) and the only outstanding thing is the size of the Dream. I felt as at home on the Dream as I felt on the Wonder. It is very similar in layout, but, and I am repeating myself, the Dream is so much bigger.
I don't know if you have to different Disney parks around the world, but for us it is a feeling of being so familiar and so different. Yip, I know I do not make sense. :rotfl2:

Let me just asure you that you will definitely like the Dream. It is an awesome ship and the CMs are just outstanding! :thumbsup2

Welcome!!

Cannot believe it will be here in a month and a half! :cool1::cool1::woohoo::woohoo:

Yes, time will fly from now on. Once you are at a certain time frame it just rushes by. :thumbsup2

Well, not everyone has sent their information for the FE yet.
But come the 15th, we will close it and then we can get our stateroom map together and post it. :thumbsup2

Your plans for the cruise look just like ours. ;) :lmao: Apart from renting a Serenity Bay Cabana and Palo brunch (did Remy twice in the evening in the summer and lunch as well) there is nothing booked. We just want to take it slow and enjoy whatever comes our way. :thumbsup2

We have half our gifts done and will have to get on with the rest over the weekend.
The aquaduck is so much fun ..... you have to ride it at least once! :thumbsup2

Visiting the new Fantasyland prior to the cruise should be so much fun. We are looking forward to going there after the cruise.

Can't wait to get back to the ship! :goodvibes

Yes, VERY good fun. I completely forgot about it! ;)

Is it tool late to sign up for the Fish Extenders? This is our first Disney Cruise and we just found out about DISboards.

:welcome: to the DISboards and welcome to our cruise thread.
I am sure you are going to enjoy your first Disney cruise, it is really good fun.

You are still in time for the FE! Please let me know all the first names of everyone sailing, the age of any kids in your group and your stateroom number, so I can add you to the lists. (There is a list with details of everyone in my first post! :thumbsup2)

I will add you to both lists in my first post right away. :goodvibes

It's not too late, just PM Karin your information and she will add you to the list.

Thanks for helping out. Sometimes work just gets in the way of the DIS! ;)
