DREAM Sail Date December 11th 2011

I give my fe gifts 1 time during the cruise. Some may get it 1 day and others may get it another. That"s how most cruises I have been on do it.

NCHuskers - where in Raleigh do you live? My family lives in Cary.

We live in North Raleigh off of Leesville Road. If you know the area, we are close to Brier Creek. The fall colors are beautiful this year in Raleigh!

I don't have experience with the FE - didn't do it last time and not doing it this time, either - so I can't help there. As far as the reservations for the restaurants - this is completely up to you and is totally a personal preference. The only two you would need reservations for are Palo and Remy, with Remy being the more upscale (expensive) of the two. There are many who cruise without eating at either of these restaurants. There are so many other free options on board (the main dining rooms, Cabanas, room service, quick service by the pool), and some folks don't want to have to be tied into a reservation time. There are others who say that both (or either) of these restaurants are "can't miss". Palo brunch on the sea day is also an option. It's very possibly that all on-line reservations are gone by this point, but you can always try to get a reservation once on board - my understanding is that they hold some back for booking at that point.

Have you made any reservations for excursions yet? That, too, is totally optional but didn't know if it was something you had considered since you hadn't thought about the restaurant reservations?

Feel free to ask as many questions as you need to!

Thanks for your answers -- yes, not that I want to spend lots of money eating at the restaurants, but I wanted to get a feel for those that are those "can't miss"....I'll try my luck in a day if so to see if I can get a reservation at any of them (if not, I can just try when we get there).....I've read mixed reviews about the excursions in general, but are there any that are 'can't miss'....I would guess that most of the excusions I could book when we arrive for later in the day (maybe I'm wrong??)....

What makes those restaurants "can't miss" is very much a matter of personal opinion! As far as the excursions, maybe somebody else can jump in here about what kind of availability you might have at the last minute. IMHO, the more popular ones would fill up ahead of time, but since we are sailing off-season, you may have better luck. Those, too, are definitely a matter of personal preference and opinion, and it's completely up to you as to what you do - or whether or not you do anything at all!

Any news on the FE?....Who's in, who's not....Is it happening with those in this thread?

Any progress on the FE list? I sent a PM and just wanted to make sure you have our information.

Thanks!

The FE sounds like it would be lots of fun. Wish I had the time and energy to participate. Maybe next time.

Anyone know how excursions work. I just booked one. When do you pay for it? Are they going to give you info on where you need to go and so forth? :confused3 All I got was a certificate with our names on it.

You will have a ticket in your room telling you when and where to meet. You will be billed to your account.

Will do thanks.
I just completed a 5 hour meeting with our claims adjuster. Great guy but we still have a lot more work gathering data :surfweb:to get our claim settled. With an organization as big as ours it is kind of like herding cats! Can't wait until we sail!

Hope it is your paperwork. In the States they have stopped sending FedEx and now send regular mail.

FYI:

Kennedy Space Center have started offering a new up close tour that takes you into the Vehicle Assembly Building.

I've booked the tour for the day we disembark.

Not exactly DCL info but given we'll be in the area I thought some of you may be interested. :)

It was my DCL Paperwork, would you believe they've been trying to deliver it since Nov 3rd?

Looking at the envelope I can believe it!

Would enjoy hearing your impressions of the tour. We have one planned for November 2012, our first time at the Space Center.

Hi all! We're jumping on board late in the game but wanted to say "hello".

Entire family is sailing to celebrate our daughter's 1st Birthday on the 15th. Has the FE list closed?
