It's hard to believe but the Royal Caribbean Anthem of The Seas makes her look small.

Funny thing is, we were alongside Quantum, her sister ship, February, 2015, in Puerto Rico and she really didn't look that much bigger than the Fantasy. Just wider.

Wait until Harmony of the Seas goes into port! At what point are these ships too big?

I have zero interest in a bigger ship, more crazy things to do, etc. I was so happy on the Magic and never ran out of things to do.

I was on Quantum in January 2015 we stopped in Nassau right next to the Dream, how I wished I could sneak onto the Dream. That cruise, for us, was the worst ever. Granted she was a new ship, but the list of what went wrong......you can google her holiday cruis of 2014-2015 to see. Unfortunately we were on the NYE cruise. I digress, the ship had a poor layout IMHO. It was a lot of wasted space, like a whole lot. Quantum was definitely noticeably bigger than the Dream, but the Dream is much, much nicer.

i was speaking to a couple from the Quantum that same day while we were drinking beer in a little brewpub in San Juan Antiguo and they talked about how terrible the layout was. They said there were bottlenecks and it felt crowded. They weren't feeling the joy.

Yeah it was just a black mark on RCCL record. Some areas were packed to the max and others were empty with not a soul in sight. Aside from the bad service (blame new ship and not properly trained employees) the coolness factor of the ship was meh. How many times do you want to see a robotic bartender, ride a ball over the sea, or even wait in line for the bumper cars that one could only do 4 laps tops in them. Then you would have to wait in an hour line again. The shows lacked everything to be desired. The kids club was a joke.
We jumped ship for a bit but jumped right back after that.
Not to say RCCL doesn't have a better family quality experience on another class ship like oasis, but we chose to come back to DCL. Depending on fall 2017 prices we may have to try Oasis class.

Would love to hear about the Freedom class as far as children's experiences and the entertainment. Honestly that is the main reason we have done DCL. If there is something else out there I am game. It worries me because my poor DS was bored to death on RCCL Quantum, even with the bells and whistles they have, he had no interest or wasn't old enough. Our fault for not checking into it ahead of time and believing their web site. Totally our bad.

He loved the bumper cars but it was like waiting on line in the summer at WDW, then they would shut it down because of staffing issues. If they had programming like Who Wants to be a Mousketeer, Mickey 200, Get to Know Your Family, Crafts, Pictionary, Towel Folding ......etc. I would jump for sure, but on my only RCCL there was none of that - only night clubs, casino, inconsistent hours at kids club, no family programming except trivia that was geared to adults, and art lectures during the day or shopping. Character breakfast was actually frighting.

Edit: they had one tiny space for crafts that was smaller than a stateroom, kids crafts only listed a couple of times on a 7 day cruise. Adult crafts once everyday.
